Hello to all the lovely APUG members. I am new (as of this week) and so thought that I would drop in here to say a brief "hello".

I am new to analog photography (well, apart from using compacts as a child) and think that APUG will be a massively beneficial place to be in my attempt at becoming part of the photographic community.

Since university, I have a strong interest in photojournalism and photography that aids in the observation, explanation and understanding of the human and natural worlds around us.

I am currently using my dad's Minolta X-700 and I have recently acquired a Pentacon Praktica MTL3 for the use of. I shall be developing my first negatives this week, so, fingers crossed something will come out.

welcome to apug!

regardless of how your first roll turns out, you'll be hooked! (have drunk the koolaid, so to speak). if it goes well, you'll be fascinated - if not, you'll want to do it again to get it right. it's great!

good people, great fun here!

For anyone that MAY be interested, I have put my first negatives that I have developed this morning on to this post. I have turned them into positives via the scanner as I don't have an enlarger to make prints until tomorrow.

I think I know of some of the reasons for the failures of some of the exposures. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Please excuse the bits of dust/lint as this is from my scanner.
