I found the 28 frameline of the M6 was really hard to use/see. However since you will need a finder for your LTM cameras you can use if desired on the M6. Several finders to choose from,
The unsharpness at the lower part of the photo is of course due to the speed of the car and not lens faults.I have a Hektor 28/6.3 (DAG serviced), a W-Nikkor 2.8 cm f/3.5, and a Konica-Hexanon-M 28/2.8 (or similar name). The Hector easily outperforms the W-Nikkor regarding contrast and center sharpness. The Konica is a class whole class above. I like the size of the Hector, makes for a small package when combined with a coll. lens.

Buy the cheaper one. That is the Hektor.
You will always end up making a profit.
With the russian and japanese stuff, not so much.
Hyss, sellers must be reading your post. The only inexpensive ones on Ebay come from Russia or the Ukraine, and I've had bad luck with those. The Japanese, on the other hand, are asking lots of money for them.
I guess one needs to ask oneself why you are buying the lens. For the photos it can make, or for the return on your investment 10 years from now.
A decent Orion 15 is a much better lens than a decent Hektor.
What;s the difference in price between the Orion and the Hektor? $800?
Hmmm, how about buying the better lens - the Orion - and putting that $800 in the stock market. Wonder what would be the better move 10 years from now?
This does not make sense. The Hector is the cheaper lens? And with Russian (by which, you really mean Soviet) and Japanese stuff, you don't make a profit? What about photography?
I am pretty sure Huss said that his Orion was demonstrably BETTER than his Hector. And also much less expensive.
No need to get your panties in a bunch- I think we all know there are sample variations, especially with old lenses. But I’m getting an Orion.
Exactly. But as always NB doesn't get it.
Has he used both lenses? Wild guess... no.
I love Leica glass, but not the 28 Hektor.
Fedka has an Orion right now, and if it is not a good copy, just send it back.

On the way to my house as we speak. Now I'm wondering which adapter will fit it to my M6.
Why is the orion better? Just because you say so?
And what if you lose the 800$ in the stock market?
Are you blind? Or just a Leitz collector. Those are also blind.
Huss, the resale value of anything absolutely matters because it defines the cost of ownership. A $1,000 lens which you can sell two years from now for $1,100 is basically free, even accounting for inflation. The cost of acquisition is irrelevant. That's why I like Leica/Hasselblad from the financial perspective: it's basically free quality gear..
I don't think you'll do that with a Hektor.
