So, along with my recently acquired ROLLEIFLEX 2.8C, I was also given an old
Heiland Syncronar flash unit...was wondering if flash bulbs for these units were
still available? Looks like the one pictured...

I loved the quality of flash from these old flashes.

eBay is best source of bulbs. Be patient, watch the market for a while, and shop carefully.

I think you should have more information about your flash and bulb , I saw at web , there were many different products with same brand name, I could not locate an precise information , may be if you post your flash guns serial number , someone could locate it at an old catalog and you could learn the bulb size also.
If I am not wrong , that brand is for graflex and other cameras also , there are seller companies at google , contact with them

you can ask her from here :http://www.flashbulbs.com

Note: Flashbulbs have not been manufactured worldwide in many years, the bulbs that you receive are previously manufactured stock which has been obtained from a variety of sources.

Please observe all prudent safety precautions when using flashbulbs, a few of which are: Always use a clear safety shield over your Flashguns reflector between the bulb and you subject in case the bulb shatters, glass fragments and filaments can be thrown a substantial distance causing injury. Never store bulbs near heat, x-rays equipment, high frequency radio or radar transmitters, electromagnetic sources.

Very early manufactured bulbs did not have safety coating and are very susceptible to shattering during use. Foil-filled bulbs are especially susceptible to being ignited by static electricity.

Do not carry bulbs in your pockets. One bulb can ignite another if they are touching each other when one is fired. Additional information is supplied with your order.

If you do not know how to use flashbulbs please find out before ordering!!

Most bulbs are in original cartons or packaging, some are loose or bulbs are repackaged.
Bulbs are by various manufactures. Contact me for other sizes not listed.
I have some odd-ball collectables and foreign bulbs as well.

I may be wrong, but your flash looks like a 2-cell model, similar to those on graflex cameras. they use GE #5 bulbs (sylvania 25) which you can find at moderate costs. flea markets, car boot sales and thrift shops are still a possible source. as already said, you have to be patient. good luck!

I frequent these places and bought amounts of flash bulbs. But never ever came across a #5 bulb over here. The best were M3.

In the USA that would be different.

you are right, an M3 bulb would do the job. it has a slightly shorter peak, but that's not important. afaik #5 was replaced by M5 and then M5 by M3. but I'm not an expert in bulbs.

M3 are easy to find in europe at least. I don't know about the USA.

Using color or B&W?
For color you want a "B" bulb, that's the blue one.:whistling:

I've got 16 Press 25's for shipping + a very modest donation to the PUG. Some Sylvania, some GE.
A medium box is about $12.00, Though I might get them into a somewhat smaller box.

These things have been underfoot for a long while and are really an unknown quantity.

Thanks everyone, for the valued input...yes, it would be for black and white. I wouldn't
use it very much quite honestly, but would simply llike the option to experiment should
a fun opportunity arise. John, I might be in touch soon.

Best,
J
