Hello everyone,
It's great to be here! I'm a photographer and and artist and as I was researching photographers for my daily blog I noticed that a lot of the great masters had used a medium (Rolleiflex mostly) or even large format cameras. I had only used a 35 mm TLR years ago and was now shooting with a Canon 50D with has a cropped sensor.
Not having a lot of money, I wanted to get one of those little magical boxes and get stuck into darkroom printing again. One of my main subjects in digital is vintage/ pin-up anyways so it all ties in nicely.
I picked up a Microflex TLR with the original box and manual but it was in need of some minor repairs. I have it back now in working order and the whole thing totalled at 150 pounds (camera+ repairs)
bargain! I've just shot my first 3 rolls of film this week and will be starting to print tomorrow - I was looking for some information on how to make large format prints - and stumbled upon this site.
I'm loving the camera so far , even the funny looks I get when taking it out for a stroll - I'm a 30-year old woman (but I look like I'm in my twenties lucky me) so most people don't quite know what the heck I'm doing.
Anyways, lovely to be here and I look forward to continue learning about analogue film processes and equipment.
