I have a Hasselblad 503CX, and the Hasselblad handle mount flash (I think made by Metz) - I very rarely use the flash, but I was using it recently and discovered that the sync cable has the black insulation peeling away from the wires inside. This cable has a circular multi conductor connector at each end, and splits to a Y with a PC connector at one end, I plug the PC connector into the lens, one circular connector into the camera body, and the other circular connector into the flash head. I get good, repeatable exposures with this setup and I would like to keep it around for a few more decades
.
Questions: Should I be worried about the insulation degradation on the cable?
Are these cables still sold? and if so, what are they called?
