O/T buy why 2(!) motor Hasselzadehs?
(I like them, maybe I should follow your example, and its seems most people don't want them)
Ah, sorry! For some reason, I didn't see a notification for your reply/question until now.
Why two motorized Hasselblads? The answer is, I was using them commercially in a portrait studio, on a tripod with a digital back.
The 500CM is my running around film camera. The 553ELX is my workhorse studio camera. The one I have now is my
second 553ELX; the first one got destroyed when my tripod got knocked over onto a tile floor, and it cracked the body shell in two places. At the time, a couple of years back, Hasselblad could fix it--but what they were asking was far more than just buying another body would cost. So I picked up a replacement for my 553ELX when you could still get them on eBay for 400 bucks or less.
And then one day, I was browsing KEH's site, and they had a complete, excellent condition 500ELX complete with late waist-level finder--for $300 including the 10% off sale at the time. I had a bit of spare cash, and I thought it would be a good idea to get a backup (especially at that price) for my 553ELX, remembering the accident that destroyed my first one. So yes, that's why I have two. My 500CM and 553ELX get loads of work in their respective spheres, and the 500ELX is the backup to the 553ELX--which you always need as a pro.
