My understanding is that there were early 500C/M's labeled as 500C's. Yours is likely one of those.

In about 1971-72 was when they made the changeover to the CM model with the removable focus screen. For awhile they made the model but kept the name 500c on the camera. I've had 2 of these models and they are identical to the 500cm model, even in the interior baffling. So make sure when you ever sell it to advise potential buyers because it is actually a 500cm model with 500c markings. Bob Nancarrow.

I have one. Didn't realise it when I bought it (bit of an impulse buy off eBay) but it's a '71 model 500C with interchangeable focussing screen.

I regret nothing. :smile:

They turn up occasionally and can be good buying as they are often cheaper than a 500C/M badged as such. Being only available in relatively small quantities makes them no less desirable either, in my view.
