As one of the later buyers of Ektachrome from theFINDlab (order 1200 something) I just got notification that mine shipped.

Drat - I was about the very last buyer (I think there were like 50 rolls left after my order of 30 rolls, number 1264) and still no notice...

ETA: Oh happy day, it has now shipped!!!

Holy cow! B&H is reporting that 35mm E100 is sold out with "More on the way" and Super 8 E100 now has expected availability at the end of January. IDK if this means there are issues in the distribution pipeline, or if EK/KA is really having that much trouble keeping up with demand. If the former is true, hopefully they'll get that sorted out soon. If the latter, it's kind of a pain in the behind for us E-6 lovers, but good for continued production of Ektachrome.

Four rolls of 35mm E100 were delivered to my door today. Woohoo! And if I burn through those quicker than anticipated, well, I've got 9 rolls of Provia 100F and 9 of Velvia 50 hangin' out in the freezer to tide me over. No danger of me running out of E-6 for some time

On a moderately related note, it seems like single rolls of Portra (at least Portra 800) are in short supply, though pro packs are readily available.

As of right this moment, Adorama shows 35mm E100 "in stock and ready to ship" - though they're still using the old E100G picture and description!

I have information available to me that indicates that some of the components necessary for manufacture of the new Ektachrome require a significant production lead time - several months in fact.
So if one production run runs out, and they didn't order the components for the next run several months previously, it isn't a simple matter of just manufacturing some more. Eastman Kodak is like every other film manufacturer now - they have to do their best to estimate demand carefully, because they cannot afford to stockpile inventory.
I've got 4 four rolls in hand, and I'm trying to use them in a variety of lighting conditions, in order to evaluate and share the response.
By the way, the information I have available to me indicates that in addition to the changes necessitated by the fact that the component suppliers no longer can supply exactly the same components as before the discontinuation, Eastman Kodak did make subtle improvements to the film around the areas of acutance and, most important in the current marketplace, stability in the face of adverse storage and shipping conditions.

EK do have to be careful. While it looks like the first run or two have sold out quickly, with high demand, that could be simply because people are anxious to get hold of the new Ektachrome becuase it's new. Demand might tail off in the coming months....the notion that they have to order some of the components way in advance likely has truth to it. It would do EK no good to order in enough stuff to make multiple runs only to find that demand settles at a lower level.

I haven't bitten yet...but if Process Supplies in London have any in stock I might just mosey on down there one day after work before my February trip to Malta. Having previously shot B&W film and C41 there, maybe now it's time for Ektachrome.

I went to Foto Gregor in Munich to buy more Instax film for my niece. I saw that they have several bricks of E100. It's €15 a roll, same as their Provia in 135. I didn't buy any, I have lots of Fujichrome in 135 and 120 and a box of Provia 4x5 for my pinhole. Being a physical shop they are more expensive, of course. But at least I could instantly get some if I wanted to.

I was in Japan over the Thanksgiving holiday and was amazed to see E100 in stock at 2 different BicCameras in Tokyo. Hope it sells well, go Kodak!
oh yes, I also received my first 10 rolls the day before we left for Japan, so was able to try out my first roll there. Planning to open a new Tetenal kit and do some developing this weekend to see how it turned out.

Altogether bought 7 rolls of 100E, will give 2 to daughter’s family, and have 4 rolls of Super 8 EktachromeD100,:4 more rolls expected to be delivered in day or two, and 4 on backorder from BH. Since I shoot mostly b/w, this should hold me for a while. For most movies I shoot 16mm and shoot color only in Super8. When considering film cost, processing, etc the cost difference between 16mm and Super 8/b/w is not that great, but is too great for me in color reversal.

As I know squat about chromes, is processing included in that $20?

Sadly, no.
The days of selling "processing included" film are long gone, I'm afraid.
So the total for buying a 36 exposure roll and then having it processed is about $30.50 plus tax CDN. The film is returned sleeved and uncut - they don't mount them.
