Harman Technology needs a new distributor for Ilford in the US.
Which may mean some disruption for those who want to buy Ilford products in the US, including those of us in Canada who buy some or all of our products from US internet sources.
I hope that Harman Technology doesn't end up being owed a bunch of money.

I believe that Ilford Imaging is related to the inkjet and Ilfochrome company that is bankrupt, and is not related to Harman technology.

I think its time to panic buying everything Ilford. I would be amazed if B&H goes through a US distributor.

I would be amazed if Wynit would have taken on the line unless B&H bought through them.

I think Wynit was a distributor that dealt with smaller stores, as they were willing to sell smaller quantities to small dealers than Ilford wanted to deal with.

As far as I can tell, Harman only sells through distributors in North America.

Got about a grand worth of paper and Ilfostop in my B&H basket. I usually wait until later this year but this news is rather disturbing.

Before panicking, I wonder if maybe Wynit had lost a major customer?

I'm sure Harman will find a way to get their film to B&H, Adorama, Freestyle, and Amazon - or at least those companies will find a way to get Ilford films. There could be issues with small shops. But, there are no small shops where I live.

Wynit was Impossible distributor as well. Impossible has already contacted dealers, they have setup a place in the US to distribute directly to dealers.

I was looking to buy some Ilford Multi grade glossy RC paper and when I went into Downtown Camera the other day,I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price for 100 sheets of 8x10 was nearly $150.00 without taxes. When I asked about the price,I was told it was a combination of the price increases in 2016 and the U.S. distributor shutting down.

Surely the price increase alone was not responsible for this huge increase.

True. Ilford Imaging was the mother company. The classic halide bussines was re-established as Harman with their photo-business Ilford Photo.
Ilford Imaging went under meanwhile.

"Harman US Distributor (Wynit) Shuts Down"

This is NOT clear at all. All that is known is Wynit is in trouble.
There is NO report yet of actual Wynit distribution being affected.

Kent Brockman: Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?

Professor: Yes I would, Kent.

I wouldn't read too much into this as Wynnit's own website doesn't mention Harman/Ilford. Harman are now part of The Pemberstone Group which includes other British companies exporting products distributed in the US.

One problem Simon Galley indicated in the past was the need to fill a container when shipping to the US to keep costs down, since the Pemberstone takeover that may well be easier, it may also be leading to different US distribution.
