HAMA pneumatic release cord - is it a worthy thing?

Hello friends,
some time ago I stumbled across an unusual thing in the store, a pneumatic 10m long release cable, made by HAMA. Well, what for it is so long, and what would I gain if I use it, except more distance from camera and complete freedom from camera shake? Or it's already much? Would it release my Mamiya C330, or it requires a camera with a very smooth release? In other words, to whom this accessory is addressed by its maker, eh?

If it is like mine and has a bulb you squeeze, it is very strong. Even my old LF Alphax shutter works with it. The only problem with it is the screw on end is bulky and you may have trouble screwing it in at tight locations.

It would be most commonly used if you want to be in the group photo for example. Or in portraits, if you like to walk around and talk then "capture" that expression.

I've used one for years! It's useful when you need a bit more distance between yourself and the camera, like for portrait work (no, not to get to a safe distance from flash powder, but it's sometimes necessary to distract sitters. And that's easily done but moving away from the camera), or when the camera is so close to the edge of the cliff that you don't really want to be there, or...

Useful thingies anyway, and much more flexible than a 1m wire-wound cable

Oh, nice! The bulb is indeed there, and the other end is bulky - but I've got an angled TLR-style adapter to cope with it. I'll try it to see how strong is it, and maybe that's a good deal? In portrait photography it should be quite convenient, so the model wouldn't know when the shutter works Or it's easier to run away from 10 meters... a wealth of uses, really

I have used pneumatic releases on my cameras 35mm up for many years, simply because I can't find a cable release that will release as smoothly or last for more than one or two uses. Charlie................
