A big hello to all of the forum members, my name is Shawn and I have recently moved to Virginia from Tampa. I played with film photography in high school and here, ten years later, I am trying to get back into it. I currently use a Canon EOS 50. I have a link at the bottom to my album on flicker. I welcome any comments and look forward to offering any information that I can.

Thanks,
Shawn Jones

Welcome to the forum from Delaware. There is a Mid-Atlantic regional group here on APUG that you might find photographers in your area and get togethers.

Shawn - welcome to APUG from western Massachusetts.

Welcome from Richmond, Va. I'm sure you'll like APUG. If you live near Richmond give me a holler!

Thanks for all the replies, I am actually in Martinsville, VA. I'm not quite sure where the next major city is from here. My wife's family lives here but I am still trying to get my bearings.

Welcome from Mechanicsville, VA. If you're in Martinsville, you're about an hour from Roanoke to the North and the Winston Salem/Greensboro area to the South. You live in a beautiful area, especially if you're in to hiking and nature photography.

Mmmmmm Martinsville. I can almost smell the racing fuel from here.
Greetings from Nash Vegas, Tennessee.

Welcome from the Republic of Floyd, right on the Blue Ridge. Superb place for landscape photography (and I lived 30 years in Santa Fe...its better here). Hope the folks are as nice there as they are here.

Welcome.

It seems I'm the opposite of Russ, grew up in Virgina (Petersburg, Blacksburg-Go Hokies, Crewe, Tazewell) but now live in New Mexico by way of Ft. Myers FL. I will agree with Russ that Virginia is a better place to live than New Mexico.

Welcome from sunny Jacksonville, Florida!
