Kia Ora all. Let's see, I'm not a photographer per see. I do, however, do a bit of projection art and on a whim I bought a Diana camera at a flea market for $5US. I thought it might be fun to tool around with it. I'm a complete newbie and seek advice and suggestions. (I didn't realise how in vogue these toy cameras were till I got it home and Googled. Ouch.) A film source would be spiffy, as the shop nearby doesn't supply 120 film.

Years ago, I used to do a bit of photography with a Nikon SLR that used film, developing my own black and white pictures. Sold a few things here and there but I've gotten away from that and wouldn't mind dabbling it again, should opportunity (and camera) arise.

I live in Arkansas for the time being, and like exploring abandoned buildings and ghost towns, when I can. I'm a sucker for trainyards too.

Seems to be many knowledgeable people here at the forum, I hope to learn much.

Cheers

Welcome aboard and you'll definitely learns lots here and maybe teach us as well!

Welcome Sweettea,
Kia Ora may be a greeting in New Zealand but in Britain it's the brand name of a cheap and nasty Orange cordial that you dilute with water that coats your teeth

Oh Yuck! Uhm... How about "Howdy" then?

Thanks for the warm welcome! (^_^)

Hello and welcome to APUG! For other film cameras you can try buying used from KEH.

A Kiwi in Arkansas...truly a funny world. Yes, welcome to APUG, and ditto the comments about Freestyle. Not only do they have almost everything concerning traditional photography, but they also specialize in plastic cameras, too.

Thanks ever so much for the Freestyle tip. I've managed to secure some film at a price that fits the budget. Cheers!

Welcome. You are in the best part of the USA. I grew up there knew several Kiwis. They had an impact on me. . . .
