I only discovered this site a few weeks ago and have been lurking, reading the threads since.
I am a keen amateur that seems to be constantly frustrated by digital images - they just don't 'do it' for me, there's no wow! factor. I've tried a couple of digital SLRs and I just don't get on with them. A couple of months ago I had no choice but to take my F100 away with me on honeymoon along with (my wife of course) some rolls of Provia 100F. Got the films back and wow! That was what I had been missing.
My wife is a dedicated digital photographer and cannot understand why I want to use film "it's outdated and expensive" she says. However, for me I want to concentrate on the best image I can obtain with my finite roll of film and not fire away hoping to get one or two good pictures on a data card.
I feel more connected with film. I think more with film.
Plus, of course there is the anticipation of waiting for the films to be developed.
It's back to France shortly. The F100 is coming along, plus the Provia (and the wife of course).
