Getting Only 300 Pictures on 64GB Card, Why?

Hello, I am using a Nikon d610 set at 14bit RAW only. With blank 64GB SanDisk SD card Camera shows only appx. 300 images starting from empty single card. This seems way too low. What might it be?


oops, my bad - I had a 16GB in slot 1 and 64GB in slot2 and camera only showing slot 1 capacity. problem solved. 300 images is for 16GB card. Makes sense.

The initial number is merely an estimate. You'll most likely get far more than that on it. Go out and shoot and see how many you actually record.
I know I start out at about 230 shots available, but end up with close to 500.

Duh on me, I realized my error. It was a 16 GB card in the dual slot. When I put the 64GB card in, I got 1.2K show up.
