Talk about unexpected election day drama- I'm casually browsing over instagram when I see this post from Dr5chrome:

Obviously, I'd take a source like dr5 seriously, but in the past few days there has been no proof that this is actually happening- I mean there's been no drama about that going on here so I'm really starting to get skeptical.

So... is this fact or fiction?

I hope not but it wouldn’t be too surprising if it was true.

Is that true?

That gepe is closing is a fact.
The question is whether that fact is true or false.

Is there an official statement by Gepe?

I have no idea. Was just trying to point out that a fact is a statement that can be shown to be either true or false.

Is there such a thing as a false fact?
GEPE has been both diversifying and selling off photo related assets for years.
Only a small portion of their business is now related to photography.
If there is a change coming, it may mean a number of things.
FWIW there aren't any indications on its website of any such closures.

All point to a direction: discontinued.

Retailer listings are uncertain evidence of discontinuation - particularly when things like packaging changes can be reported as such.
All of Adorama's GEPE slide mount listings are listed as "Back Ordered", although this one says it is temporary: https://www.adorama.com/gp7001.html
And Amazon? I wouldn't rely on their availability information.

Who makes AP's slide mounts?

Likely still AP. They once started their business with injection molding of photo accessories though nowadays they turned more to wholeselling photo products.

I called gepe a while ago (in Farchant, Germany) and they confirmed that production of slide mounts has unfortunately been terminated.

So what are the options for medium format now?

I am aware of matin mounts but never used them. Any opinions on them?

If there is demand for slide mounts and market dries up, which is still quite a bit away, then there will be someone making them. It is not a product that requires a lot R&D to get going. Again, we are far away from that point though.

It would be helpful if you stated what you are already aware of before soliciting information.

35mm:

-) Reflekta
CS mounts

-) Kaiser
CS mounts

-) AP
CS mounts

-) Wess

Rollfilm:

-) Kunze
4.5x6, 6x6, 6x7

-) Jensen
6x8, 6x9

-) Wess

However, I am constantly told here at Apug: "Colourfilm is to be scanned, not to be printed or projected."
And I do not know anybody over here, except for an artist or two for a singular installation, who still projects slides, let alone buying a projector or slide mounts.

Someone is buying slide projectors....my local camera shop sold two in the run up to the first Covid lockdown (UK).

But perhaps insufficient people are buying the high quality Gepe mounts. I used to like their cine reels too.

But quite some models, including professinal models, are still listed at their website.
Which either means there still are stocks, or that their site is outdated.

At least the standard models still are listed as in stock at several of their dealers.
