Hi,
I mixed the Formula for FX37 according to that found in The Darkroom Cookbook & The Film Developing Cookbook which are identical with each specifying 5ml of 1% Benzotriazole.
Due to a lack of published times for Fuji Acros 100 in either of the above books or the Massive Dev Chart or anywhere else I looked I based my time on other T grain emulsions.
Using 1 + 3 dilution as recommended, I developed the film for 8min @ 20C based on the times given for Tmax 100 and Delta 100.
I used continuous agitation for first minute then 3 inversions every minute thereafter, unfortunately the result was overdevelopment by a significant amount, not totally irretrievable but not good! I am guessing 6 min would be much nearer the time.
If anyone has a time for Acros 100 or a more definative list of film times for FX37 at either 1+3 or 1+5 dilution which I've seen for some films, I would be most grateful.

Crawley's recommendation in 2005 was 7 min for 1+3 at 20F, agitation 4 inversions per minute (post 10):

However in 2005 he did increase the times from his original 1996 recommendation by a minute or more for some films so it is not entirely clear which is best.

Thanks Alan,
I read your comments in link very interesting. I now have 2 times for Tmax 400 of 8min and 7min and also 8min for Tmax 100. I don't think I will use FX 37 on the fast films due to previous remarks. More importantly I have another time for Acros 100 of 7mins, so given my experience I will give the next roll 6min and see how it compares with the overdeveloped 8min film.
BTW is agitation for whole fist minute advised or is less better?
Cheers

Hello George,
In Crawley's 1996 BJP article introducing FX-37 he says "... four small tank agitations per minute, starting on pouring."
Thanks again, that rules out the first minute then! probably contributed to the overdevelopment significantly then. On second thoughts I will try 7mins with this regime.
cheers
