According to http://www.subclub.org/fujinon/index.htm
the most comprehensive list of Fuji lenses around, there were two different 400/8 Fujinon-T lenses.

If you have questions about lenses, please try this link http://1drv.ms/1w0vbMD
will take you to a useful list of links to catalogs and sites with information about lenses. The catalogs and sites report on nearly all modern lenses and many older ones.

The newer one (the second) is slightly redesigned and multi-coated (EBC) the other is just single coated, I doubt either will focus very close.

My 360mm Tele Xenar needs approx 20cm bellows extension at Infinity approx 22cm for 30ft, 24cmm for 15ft roughly the distance we tested at on Saturday. The Fujinon 400T needs more like 26cm for infinity focus and you'll probably run out of bellows extension before you can get close enough for what you want to do.
