This is all in-country pricing. The yen has tanked against the dollar, so all dollar-denominated imports of raw materials are around 35% more expensive than a couple of years ago, even excluding the current supply chain issues.

Japan should adopt the Fujichrome Standard. To heck with gold. Slide film could be the answer to sovereign debt!

But many of their products, including all film, are manufactured in Japan. So whatever affects Japanese production costs will affect global pricing of the resulting product.
