Not a problem in my experience... no further comment EPA.

The EPA issue was the manufacture of the film, not the processing. E6 is E6 is E6.

That’s actually not correct. It was the development process that was releasing the effluent that did not meet epa reg.

No, it was the film itself that is the issue. I forget the name of the chemical, but it’s used in an extremely small amount in Velvia 100. Since it’s banned for all applications in the US, regardless of quantity, it can’t be sold.

Most labs don’t care about it, but sometimes they get a stick up their ass if you send them velvia 100. I know The Darkroom is notorious for refusing it.

I’ve had limited development problems myself but here is the quote from both the EPA and Fujifilm: “On March 8, 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a rule regarding the chemical phenol, isopropylated phosphate (3:1) (PIP (3:1)) (CASRN 68937-41-7) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which prohibited the processing and distribution in commerce, including sales, of the chemical and products containing the chemical. EPA also issued an enforcement policy on the same day stating that it will not enforce the ban on processing and distribution until September 5, 2021.”

Yes, it does use the word processing in there, but not in the context of processing film. Basically, it means you can’t make it, or any derivatives of it, or any product that contains it. Including film.
