Nearly a year later, I just bought some more Neopan 400 from B&H. This time I came in a 5 roll Pro-pack, with an emulsion number of 281-005 and a date of may 2014. I does not appear that they are making too many batches, although the "005" may mean that they are making larger runs.?

As of right now, the Fujifilm Japan website lists the following B&W films as current products:

Neopan 100 Acros: 35mm/36 exp, 120, 4x5, 8x10, 4x5QL
Neopan 400: 35mm/24 exp, 35mm/36 exp
Neopan SS: 35mm/24 exp, 35mm/36 exp

http://fujifilm.jp/personal/jan/monochrome.html
.

Wandering a bit on that site using Google translate, It seems that Neopan SS is to disappear. too bad as that was the very first Fuji Film I ever used. The discontinuation natice is from June of this year.

I just checked fuji japan website and after a bit of searching (I can read Japanese) they stopped making Neopan this year. They recommend that you use Acros instead.

Re: Post 54. Andrew, I think that means the "Neopan SS" doesn't it? With the recommendation to use "Neopan 100 Acros" as a replacement. A link to the announcement would be handy ;o)

I would guess that's correct even though Acros and SS are unbelievably different films.

I have been ordering a few rolls of Neopan 400 every time I buy something from B&H and Freestyle. Last Night I checked both sites and B&H has listed Neopan 400 As "Discontinued" and it seems to have completely dropped off freestyles' site.

Last batch I received about a month ago from B&H was still emulsion 281.

I had grown to like that film, having been introduced to it as "Legacy Pro 400" Time for APUG members to survey their local markets to see if any Neopan 400 stock is still for sale in their respective markets.

Yup. I believe what's on the shelves might be about it. I stocked up both 120/35 and glad I did. I hope it's like APX films and there's hopefully loads frozen somewhere in Japan that will slowly spill out for the next few years here and there. Sad to see it go though....

Since all I have gotten after the demise of Legacy Pro was in Batch 281-001, 281-002, .... 281-008 I suspect that they frezer stock has already gone to market. I am not sure but I think the legacy pro was all in the 270 range.

Neopan 400 135 is still widely available here in Europe for as little as €4.5/roll.

my shops only have Acros and c41...

Damn! I was just about to make another order! Ugh

Well, guess it's HP5+ from now on, next best thing...

I use Delta 400 interchangable with Legacy pro.
Hp5+ has a different signature.

Sad days

Well it's more about "focussing" on just a few emulsions. D400 isn't available in sheet form, so I'm HP5+ prone, makes processing times sync up so I can process multiple formats at the same time in the same tank.

Delta3200 isn't available in sheet either, so I shoot HP5+ pushed and it comes out really well, so it's so flexible, I like just keeping it simple if possible. I've never shot D400, I'm scared I'll like it too much haha

But I always shoot Neopan400@800 so Not sure if Delta400 would like that as much.
