I've been curious about this film for a while. Is there a consensus on the differences - if any - between the original Acros and current Acros II?

Spectral graphs are ever so slightly different, with Acros II have less sensitivity to UV and blue, and a bit more red sensitivity. Still the best film when it comes to reciprocity.

Duty rates are based on the country of manufacture, not the country where an item is recently exported from.

Even better given its manufactured in the U.K. according to lamerko or is it only partially made here in the U.K. so the question to the U.S. customs men becomes the same as that asked by Groucho when ordered out of the exclusive country club swimming pool " My nephew is only half Jewish so can he stay in the water as long as it doesn't go above his waist?.

So whatever the real answer is there may be no need for any shenanigans in the Cayman Islands . Happy Days are here again😃

Thanks for that, lamerko, but to be serious for a moment, we are back to the Groucho Marx question which is: Is Acros wholly made in the U.K. or does Harman only do part of the process despite saying "Made In the U.K."

If that questíon has been answered unequivocally and all are agreed that it is wholely made here then my apologies for raising it again. However if it is wholly made in the U.K then presumably from a U.S. customs perspective it still raises the question of why it is called Fuji Acros. Has, for instance, Harman been provided with the Acros formula and contracted to make the Fuji devised film so that Fuji still holds the right to call it "Fuji Acros II" and sell it as íts own fílm and is so is regarded as a legimate way to avoid the higher tariff rate levied by the U.S. on Japanese goods?

We need the lawyers for this, such as Matt

I think (I speculate) it's for the same reason Fujicolor is now made in the US. It seems Fuji is phasing out the film business.
As far as I know, Harman's production of Acros is not a transfer of license, but a subcontract. And maybe whether there will be a sheet film is entirely up to Fuji. But again, that's speculation.
But what is clear is that the availability of Acros and Fujicolor has not been affected like, for example, Velvia or Provia.
About the prices - this is an interesting topic. We have no way of knowing what the production costs are and what the contract with Harman is, but after a short search, I see that the Fuji Akros is sold in Japan for 2080 yen or 13 euros (tax included). Almost the same, a little cheaper in Europe, where there is an average of 20% VAT and maybe some customs duty, I don't know what is happening between the UK and the EU. I don't see any paradox in this regard.
