I’m helping a friend sell his late father’s photo equipment. PayPal payments will go directly to my friend and shipment must go to your PayPal-verified address. I'll provide you with payment info once we've agreed on the price, and I'll handle shipping as all the equipment is at my house for ease of listing. Prices include shipping to addresses in the continental US unless otherwise stated. Feel free to make an offer if you think the asking price is out of line, but remember that I'm not just trying to get bottom dollar for my friend and I can see the same completed eBay sales as you. International sales must go by a tracked and insured method, which won't be cheap, but I'll credit you the built-in US shipping cost.
Offered here is a Manfrotto 3443 "Carbon One" tripod with attached 3047 head and hexagonal mounting plate. Both tripod and head are in good condition and all flip-locks and adjustments work correctly. The legs lock at three different angles. With them maximally splayed it's not possible to have the center column all the way down. With the legs locked in the middle position the center column needs to be very slightly raised (like 1/4") so it doesn't contact the floor, and the floor-to-mounting-plate height is 26". With the legs in the tallest position and fully extended the height is 59-1/2" with the column down and 74" with the column fully extended. This last position is certainly not the most stable way to use a tripod, but it gives an idea of the available range.
Flip-locks are especially nice for cold-weather use as gripping twist-locks can be a challenge when wearing mittens. I considered buying this for myself purely for the flip-lock feature, but ultimately decided that adding a fifth tripod to the fleet was just too much. This tripod is more than adequate for a 4x5, and could perhaps support something even bigger. Given the size and awkwardness associated with shipping, I'd like to try a local sale first. I'm in the North Shore area of Massachusetts and am willing to meet you within reasonable distance, let's say an hour's drive or so from my home in North Reading. The $120 asking price for this nice carbon-fiber tripod with head includes PayPal fees; if you want to pay cash then it's $115.
