So I built this ice water tank for the JOBO on a hot day to keep the temp at the proper temperature.

I built a better one and don't need this one. I can either disable it and return the parts to Home Depot and throw out the tank, or sell it to someone whose not as handy as me.

It works great, it's gravity fed, but I'm not even sure it needs to be, the solenoid inside the JOBO opens and closes as needed, there's not much pressure but probably keeping it slightly elevated above where the hookup is would be good enough, I only put it on the shelf because it fit best out of the way there.

Anyway if you have questions ask

Here are 4 pictures, one of the setup and 2 of what you'll be getting in the mail

The only thing you'll need to get is a garden hose size end for attaching to the JOBO itself but that's cheap and easy to find at any Home Depot type store. The last picture are what they look like FOR REFERENCE, there are plastic and brass ones. They are called "3/4 in FH x 3/8 in ID" that's 3/4 for the garden hose size and 3/8 for the nub to go into the hose tube that's included.

Additionally a link to a video I made of the processor running.

$40 shipped.

Video Link (I don't know what's up with this video, I can't seem to watch it myself once I attach it as a link, I just wanted it to be a link so that people could go outside the website, the new system seems to be trying to make it into a viewable video within the page, and for some reason isn't being allowed to do that. So if you can't view the video, just follow this link and it will probably be right at the top of recent posts from my facebook fan page. Seems to work fine on their forums I've posted this on).

Suffice to say 77 degrees in the house, 68 degrees in the processor's water because of this I was able to process 10 8x10 sheets and 6 rolls of 120 the other day.

Do you have a thread on the better one you built? I tried using a wort chiller with really didn't work well.

The honest truth is that my mom had hip surgery and she had to use a special cold water pad that formed to her hip that was fed by a medical cooler like an igloo type, and she's done with it and I realized it's the same screw size as a garden hose on both ends, and I can just use that instead; even the hose size was the same, total coincidence... They cost $160 or something new, but it was already in the house and she didn't need it anymore so I'm using that.

Ah, I had something like that when I had knee surgery. Bet I tossed it, one of those things you figure will never get used again and just takes up space. It had a little built in pump to circulate water.

Oh this was just a cooler, no machinery, just had a self drilled hole so the job was already done. The JOBO seems to suck the water so no pressure is really needed, Gravity was more than enough

Hmm, an interesting solution to be sure. Living in the Sonoran Desert cool water temps in my Jobo is an issue nearly all year. My solution is to partially fill a gallon freezer bag with water, set it in one of my wife's old bread baking pans, then freeze. When I need to use the Jobo, I fill it with roughly correct temp water and float the "iceberg" in the upper water trough. The water flowing past the frozen ice bag and down the exit hole seems to be enough to maintain 68F or 75F; my two most used processing temps.

If I want to use my ATL-3 in the summer, I have to develop at a higher temperature and change the times accordingly. I wonder if this system would work with my machine I better check on the water pressure requirements, but I would love to have a chiller.

I believe it's the same as the CPP2 I have.

There should be a "male" plastic hoze screw on the back of the ATL3 that is the "cold water solenoid".

This screenshot from a quick look at the ATL3 manual shows a "cold water inlet" although I'm not sure it's the same thing, the ATL3 is more advanced than the CPP2 to my knowledge so should also have a cold water solenoid as part of the cold water inlet I would ASSUME.

The full manual is here...

Hope that helps

There are three models of the ATL-3, with two of them having the same hot and cold supply connections. The third one has it's own water heater tank and only has a single supply connection, for cold water. IIRC, the two models without the built in heater are 110V and the other is 220V in the U.S. models. That may help you identify which you have.
