No he did. I got into a big argument with him about it on RFF, he was defending white supremacists saying he knows many and how they are good family people etc.
He then was pushing white supremacy propaganda and it's why I am no longer on RFF. The owner of RFF left his posts up for several weeks, after being made aware of them, but gave me a temporary ban for criticizing the Pixii digital camera - I guess because he was planning on trying to sell it.
Anyway, Petronio is a hate filled racist and so good riddance.
Well you might just have given the reason why so many people are sucked into hate groups in the second sentence so it may not be that difficult to understand the "why"

Ah, so he may have left of his own accord in say 2006/ early 2007 under the name Frank Petronio and then came back under another name. He was then banned and hasn't either attempted a return or has attempted a return but was spotted and refused?
"The game's afoot, Watson" as Frank Drebbin would say

That was a regular game of his- get banned, come back with a new identity, and in short order reveal himself through his postings, thus getting re-banned. Not just here but on other forums too. At this point, I don't really care WHY he became an obnoxious jerk - he's had plenty of time as a mature adult to grow out of it, and if the charges against him are true, he's not only not grown out of it, but gotten worse.
Thanks. I was just trying out of curiosity about this person to get to the bottom of the behaviour that got him banned and what his modus operandi was on APUG. It appears from what you say that he was originally banned here then came back with a new identity but his postings revealed who he was and he was re-banned
I think you are the first to make his modus operandi on APUG clear

I remember that thread. Is that the one that started over my Downtown Portland Saturday morning photos of the remains of the previous nights protest?
Typically someone that causes fights and insult people repeatedly would get banded.
Possibly, it's been a while. One thing that really disappointed me was that there were a lot of RFF members who said that Petronio should be allowed to voice his opinion.
So, while they 'may' not have condoned it openly, he should have a platform for it on that site.
That's when I was done.
Italics added by me.
I'm sure that wasn't the word you intended to use, but I like it.
Just like migratory birds that we wish to track, it would be handy (in this moderator's opinion) to be able to "band" problematic and disruptive posters, so that when they fly in again, we can easily identify them.
Rude, argumentative and disruptive forum members have a huge and oversized effect on the environment within a website. Like the proverbial "car crash" there is a fascination in discovering that behaviors that caused concern here were of similar ilk to other behaviors in other environments.
On the subject of bans, it is probably best not to leap to conclusions about posts you can find. There may have been others that are long gone.
Frank certainly has a unique talent. Even in abstentia he can cause controversy.
