I am nee here but have read these comments looking for info on getting my Fujica GS645S repaired and reached out to Frank Marshman and he is still accepting cameras for repairs. Just though I would let you all know as he is kind of a hard guy to contact.
Being that he works from home, would you know if he still works on lenses? I have e Zenzanon MC 150mm f3.5 that has some haze inside the rear element.

The best thing to do is ask him directly, although I suspect something simple like haze removal isn't an issue (assuming the haze is removable). There are things he no longer works on since he closed his storefront and got rid of some parts and equipment so it's really best to ask him.

Thanks for the info.
Yes, I’ve left a message on his voicemail, I’m sure he’ll get back to me.

Hello,
I just started shooting with the Fuji gs645s and encountered some issues. Halfway through the roll, the shutter seems to be stuck, i had to wind the advance lever a few times before I could release the shutter . Am I missing out any steps? Or is my camera faulty.. thank you

Leo

Has anyone had any work done by Frank lately? He fixed a camera of mine a couple of years ago with no problems, but this time I sent him a GS645 in February and there's still no indication that it's close to being done. I've talked to him on the phone a few times since I sent it in, and he's been very cagey and often contradictory. Definitely getting a bit worried.

I am speculating that he has had some very confrontational conversations. The fact that you can still talk to him is a good sign as opposed to a message that the phone has been disconnected. Best wishes on your repairl=.

Hello, did you finally get Frank to fix your camera? I am in the same situation, at the beginning of January I sent him the same camera and since then he has not answered my emails. I am from Spain and I cannot contact him by phone. I don't know what to do, it is a camera that has great sentimental value.

He did eventually fix it, though it wound up having an unforeseen issue that requires a replacement part that he may or may not be able to source. I haven't had a chance to send it back to him yet.

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. It might not always be the smoothest experience, but he will get to the camera at some point. If you want to get in touch with him, I would strongly, strongly suggest finding a way to call him. Put a few euros in your Skype account, for example. He's generally good with phone stuff, but email is spotty at best.

Call him. He doesn't check his email often. By phone he's very responsive.

I've had two cameras serviced by him in the past 6 months. Both went fine. One did have to go back for additional adjustment, which he did with no fuss and reasonable (2 week) turnaround.

I use Facebook to contact him, he usually writes in the Learn Camera Repair group.

Hi Alex
thanks for the information. For whatever reason I might need another referral if Mr Marshman declines etc. These GA645zi cameras are not necessarily easy to repair.

I am across the pond and thankfully my GW690III holds up well. Sadly I have heard that the repairability of the Fujis is being more and more limited despite them being relatively modern. As a photo club friend said: "Not so modern, these are 20+ years old!"
Have seen that Frank was active in Facebook relatively recently, even replying in the Fuji 6x9 group giving repair tips

Don't want to hijack the thread, but specially relevant to the GA645zi and given that people looking for repairs might end up in this thread: A repair store "Fototech" in Poland has reverse engineered some of the electrical components. They are able to fix the LCD issue by replacing the ribbon cable and board: https://www.fotonaprawa.pl/
