Hi- I should have posted this outcome regarding Frank Marshman 8 months ago. Frank was excellent with communication and after he received my camera for repair I only contacted him once and I did not receive a reply. I was worried, but six weeks later I received my camera back better than ever.
I'm in Canada, and FRANK FILLED OUT THE CUSTOMS PAPERWORK PROPERLY, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW.** Thus I did not have to pay tax or duty except on the repair charge, when the camera re-entered Canada. I highly recommend Mr. Marshman for camera repairs. Worth the wait, and worth the money.
Frank Marshman did an excellent and timely repair and returned the camera to me in excellent condition and also filled out the customs paperwork properly. Thanks Frank!
**In the past when getting cameras repaired by some other people in the USA, I have asked the repair person to please make sure that the customs paperwork for shipping back to Canada is in compliance with the law by stating on the customs declaration form that the camera is used and is being returned after repair. The responses to that simple lawful request vary from no I won't lie for you, to the customs form being filled out as "very valuable old camera, NOT an antique, value $500 USD," for a bellows replacement on a folding camera made in the late 1950's worth $25 USD even with the replaced bellows.
