I found this thread about a year ago and sent two Fujis to Frank. I got one back and he said he had to wait for parts on the other. That he's had it for 8 months and I've been emailing him since the beginning of November and he hasn't responded. I just tried to call and the phone was busy. Does anybody have any newer information on any of this?

Same story. Sent my Fuji Folder back for service, as it stopped working shortly after first repair. It has been over 8 months and no response to phone messages or emails, nothing.

No sooner had I posted here, and sent another email to Camera Wiz, did I receive an email reply that the camera was shipped and tracking number showing that to be the case. Only comment was sorry, waiting for a part. Well, hopefully it all ends well for you too.

He called me yesterday afternoon. A week ago I sent him my beautiful Plaubel Makina III.
It's very dry inside according to Frank, and he is going to make a missing interior part for it.
If this works out (Why wouldn't it??) I have a lot more work for him.

I recently bought a GSW690II cheap which Frank later said was the deal of the day. I had called and left a message after about a week of no response I found this thread and decided to just send it out to him. He received it on the 24th of Feb and last night I got a text saying my camera was ready, can't wait to get it back.

Frank is a nice man, but honestly I cannot recommend him. I sent him a Maniya C220 that had film advance issues. He kept it a long time, was incomunicado, and at the end of the day the camera worked no better than when I sent it to him, so I wasted my money.

Has anybody had this guy work on a really unusual rare camaras like a Bell and Howell Foton? I have one, but I'm scared to have anybody work on it, it's so rare and special.

I am happy to vouch for Mr. Marshman. I emailed him with a description of my problem (A GSW690 II with sticky shutter and a lens assembly that wouldn't budge.) Late the same day, he emailed back with a detailed response. I sent him the camera, which he acknowledged receiving via email. He turned the work around the same week (faster than my usual guy) and the camera was back to me a week after that. (Crossing the border always slows things down.)

His communication was fast and thorough, his price was reasonable, his workmanship was top notch. Recommended.

I only ever emailed him. Perhaps that's the route to try, if you can't raise him by other means.

I'm about to attempt to send him my Konica Auto S3 to see if he can give it a clean bill of health and I can shoot knowing its ready for the next few years. Hopefully he's still around, I just sent him an e-mail.

You might also give him a phone call before sending your Auto S3. Frank closed the shop and works out of his home now, as a result of which there are some things we can/will no longer work on.

Will do. Thanks for the heads up, Steve.

Reached his VM and left him a message. VM still indicates he may still be doing camera work as he mentioned CameraWiz. Fingers crossed!

With large format shutters I have nothing but praise for Frank. For me he has done top-quality work at reasonable prices and good turn-around times.

I just received a Plaubel Makina back from service/CLA from Frank. I haven't tested it yet but will report if anything is amiss. My initial contact with him was through email, which went unanswered for a day or two so I tried the link to him through eBay and he answered right away. Turn around time for my camera was a week.

So did you send your camera to Frank Marshman? If so, did you get it back? Was it properly fixed?

That sounds great. May I please have the link to Frank Marshman through eBay?

Hi- I should have posted this outcome regarding Frank Marshman 8 months ago. Frank was excellent with communication and after he received my camera for repair I only contacted him once and I did not receive a reply. I was worried, but six weeks later I received my camera back better than ever.
I'm in Canada, and FRANK FILLED OUT THE CUSTOMS PAPERWORK PROPERLY, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW.** Thus I did not have to pay tax or duty except on the repair charge, when the camera re-entered Canada. I highly recommend Mr. Marshman for camera repairs. Worth the wait, and worth the money.
Frank Marshman did an excellent and timely repair and returned the camera to me in excellent condition and also filled out the customs paperwork properly. Thanks Frank!

**In the past when getting cameras repaired by some other people in the USA, I have asked the repair person to please make sure that the customs paperwork for shipping back to Canada is in compliance with the law by stating on the customs declaration form that the camera is used and is being returned after repair. The responses to that simple lawful request vary from no I won't lie for you, to the customs form being filled out as "very valuable old camera, NOT an antique, value $500 USD," for a bellows replacement on a folding camera made in the late 1950's worth $25 USD even with the replaced bellows.

I am nee here but have read these comments looking for info on getting my Fujica GS645S repaired and reached out to Frank Marshman and he is still accepting cameras for repairs. Just though I would let you all know as he is kind of a hard guy to contact.
