I had a problem with my Mamiya 645 Pro over the past couple of days. The FE401 metering prism would blink "over" continuously. I tried several things to get the error to clear including removing and reattaching the prism, turning the camera on and off, and moving the ISO setting on the back. None worked every time but I was able to clear it by trying one until the error cleared. Needless to say it was annoying. I have a second back that does not seem to have this problem. Both of the backs are in good condition. The body is like new as is the metering prism.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what to look for on the troublesome back?

Thanks,
Rob

I would try cleaning the contacts on the back, if you haven't already. Also exercise the ISO dial. If it sat for a long time the internal contacts may have some oxidation. A few runs back and forth through all the speeds might help.

I had a similar problem which went away after cleaning every contact on the body, back and finder with an alcohol swab.
