Hi, my friend gave me a sekonic lumi L-158 meter. I found it is under 1-2 EV compare to an old one I have. and my older one is definitely accurate. Is there anyway I can open the incorrect one and adjust something inside to fix it? Thanks.

I don't know that one. Does it have an adjustment screw? OTOH you might find fixing it at one point makes it wrong in different light.

Since the meter is a selenium cell device, it is most likely that the cell is deteriorating because of a faulty seal around the edge of the cell (moisture getting in) and even if you could bring it into spec, it is very probable it will continue to lose sensitivity. Best to replace the cell. Quality Light Metrics in Hollywood is a reputable company and specializes in refurbishing old selenium meters.

Just compensate by using an appropicate ASA setting.

in comparing my old meter, the needle does move to the same angle with the same amount of the light.....
