Have you tried a Dark Red filter coupled with a Polarizing filter yet to get black skies?Does anyone know of a good Red-50 filter? I've seen a couple advertised online but they seem lighter than the Red-25's. I love a pitch-black sky. Also, how do I know what filter mount I need to get for my Schneider? I know someone who has a 3D printer, should I just see about getting him to make me one? I'm not sure if I should get a filter that goes in front of or behind the lens quite yet, either.
Glass filters behind the lens can cause focus shift, so focusing needs to be done with filters in place...not so with filters on the front of the lens. Gel filters, I believe, do not cause focus shift when used on the back of the lens....but I will need the back-up of more technical minds here for confirmation.
