Film for Zeiss Ikon 668/5

I've revived a Zeiss Ikon 668/5 to the point where I believe it will now take pictures. How good of pictures it takes I would like to find out.
I only need to find a film that will fit the carriers. It looks like they hold a sheet approximately 3-1/4" X 4" (maybe it was 3" X 4-1/4" - I don't have the camera with me and don't remember exactly).

What film should I use for it....I don't see that size as an available size anywhere.
My first thought is to cut down 5X7 sheets but then I was thinking to try the camera out, I could use a roll of 120 cut down.
So I'm asking for assistance with this project in three ways:

• What commercially available films would work in this camera (or would cut down the best to fit with the least waste)?
• What should I use to hold cut 120 film in the carrier?
• Any cutting, fitting, putting film into the carrier, has to be done in TOTAL darkness, right? That will create a big time challenge.

You can get a roll film back that'll fit, that's the easiest option, just watch the edge types differ and don't get a 620 version, they are usually cheap.

The model number maybe wrong I think, Zeiss made 9x12 and 1/4 plate cameras, 1/4 plate were for export only as it was never a Continental European size. Both 1/4 plate & 9x12 film are available, there's not much choice in 1/4 plate but a wider choice if it's 9x12 as it was the Continental European equivalent of 5"x4".

I know what you mean about the model number may be wrong because I had to search all over to find anything about the ***/5 designation. That really is the number on the camera and on the film carriers. Research on the ***/5 designation shows the film size to be 8 cm X 10.5 cm. I believe the 668 line was the Maximar line of folding plate cameras for Zeiss

OK so it's probably an export model 1/4 plate camera.

Ilford cut 1/4 plate film every Annual ULF run, it's expensive, I have some EFKE 1/4 plate film, I think Fotoimpex (Adox0 are still selling iyt.

So do you have 9x12 film holders? Do they fit the camera? Are your film holders film holders or plate holders?

That camera might be a Maximar but it shure looks like a 9x12 Zeiss Trona. There are 3 1/4 by 4 1/4 solutions to your problem too if it is an actual 9x12.

Sorry for all the questions. In old Zeiss cameras a dozen pictures tells a whole lot of stories.

BTW the 668 is the model number for the backs, the model number for the Maximar should be 207/5.

Thank you for the information regarding the numbering of the camera. Now it makes a whole lot more sense.
The size appears to actually be quarter plate size and I have both a plate holder and 2 sheet film holders for it.
