Yes! Perhaps it's my imagination, but I perceive that the density extends along the edge of the frame leading to light edges in the final print. Perhaps it's nothing, and I can always burn the edges.
To me, it seems unlikely that there is any connection between the thin lines in the rebate (as circled in red) and any unexpected density at the edges of the negatives that would result in the need to burn in the edges of your prints. In other words, I suspect you have two unrelated "issues" -- although I would not call the thin lines an issue because they are outside of the image area, so are not really causing any problems, right?

If you feel the need to burn in the edges of your prints because they are too light, then that is is not due to your imagination. But whatever is causing the thin lines in the rebate is probably not what is causing the extra density at the edges of your negatives(?) I'm guessing, so may be proven wrong.

It would be helpful if we could see one of your uncorrected prints which does not have the edges burned in.

I'd start with verifying the problem you believe to be there, really exists. So far, I see no sign of it.

I bet your camera is fine and so are your negatives.

I think you're correct.

The first few rolls I developed had extremely pronounced edge effects. I was filling my 15oz Nikor tank to the brim with 500cc of developer. This left no room for agitation. once I reduced the developer volume to 450cc, the edge effects went away, though I noticed these lines. I conflated the two phenomena, and the lines are not edge effects but rather a function of camera design.

Think I'm good now. Thanks!
