Ok folks, I have some film that I processed and dried prior to getting a drying cabinet which has some dust etc, more than I can or am willing to deal with in PS. I saw a thread re cleaning fluid for films after wetmounting for scanning, would it do the job and (for the UK contingent) where would I get said stuff?
The thread also eluded to some guys wetmounting with flatbed scanners, is it poss, anyone here do it or have any info regarding this? I would like to have a try at wetmount scans on the cheap!!! the thread seemed to be suggesting that even a flatbed can be improved with this workflow.
Fairly new to scanning having just bought a Canon 9950f.

film cleaning

OK I will try again, not sure if I am not getting replies due to the scanning query part of the thread so I shall dispense with it and persue elsewhere.
I am still in need of a good film cleaner for colour chromes, when they dry they have small dry spots on them. I have read on various threads that one should not rinse after the stabilizer stage as this washes said stabilizer out, ok but how the do I get clean/clear dry chromes?
Thanks in advance/hope!

Perhaps you could email the guy over at photo-i.co.uk. Or check through the recent V750 review, he may have listed there where he got his fluid.

Since the film is relatively fresh you can re-wash the film. Before re-washing I'd run the film through an ionization cleaner and maybe some tacky rubber to remove surface gunk. Trichlor is quite good a cleaner but its been banned:

Isopropanol is a good a cheap replacement (the stuff in PEC).

Important is a final rinse in demineralized water before baking in your drying cabinet. For a final rinse I tend to use a mix with a dash of Isopropanol and a pinch of Triton X-100. If the film was correctly processed there is no need to soak again in Formalin.
