Well, I got my neg figured out, and I attempted to print it today, but had a doozy of a darkroom session. Will try next week again.

I'm not in the print exchange (I can only do one exchange at a time). At the moment I am trying to get my alt-process print exchange stuff printed. I still have some 5x12 negs from my June nude workshop at Foto 3 to develop. I guess that's what all this time off during the holidays will be spent doing. :wink:

I've been ill for almost two weeks and have had no darkroom time. I will try with all my might to get the print done for the exchange, but losing two weeks like this is going to make it tough. May I have a couple of weeks worth of extension? I'm still not feeling well, and not sure when I'll be back at it.

Thomas,

Of course. Please get take it easy and don't stress over the little things. Your health is most important and your recipient will understand, I am sure. The fact is most exchange participants, including myself, are late for much less valid reasons. It's the ones that don't send anything at all that bug APUGers.

Regards, Art.

Art,

I would like to participate in the exchange. How do I get "on the list" and become a participant?

Hi Dan,

Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait until the next round. We'll start another one in the spring or late winter. Looking forward to your participation then. In the meantime, post some images here and start or reply to a thread or two.

Regards, Art.

I think I finally nailed the print I'll use for this exchange. Took a lot of darkroom coaxing, but I'm finally happy! Print will be sent out by the end of this week.

I am having some confusion about the exchange. I don't work by a computer and I miss a lot of stuff that goes on in APUG, but the last I knew about the Nude print exchange I was to receive from Ian and send to Vaughn. Today however I received from Kent who is certain that he was to send to me.

Did I miss some part of the division of names and am I to send something to someone else?

I am sorry for not doing more research but I am crushed here in my dark room today and don't have much time.

Here is the official order according to the thread in the print exchange forum. Looks like you are supposed to receive a print from both Ian and 'kberquist'.

Thomas Bertilsson --> keeds
gr82bart --> Thomas Bertilsson
smieglitz --> gr82bart
TheFlyingCamera --> smeiglitz
Allen Friday --> TheFlyingCamera
dpurdy --> Allen Friday
Ian Leake --> dpurdy
Akki14 --> Ian Leake
Vaughn --> Akki14
dpurdy --> Vaughn
kberquist --> dpurdy
KWhitmore --> kberquist
Rlibersky --> KWhitmore
keeds --> Rlibersky

Hey Dennis,

I really think it was meant to be just one print per participant - receive one and send one. I tried to fish for exchanging more than one print, but no positive response to that. I belive it's a mistake, unless an exception was made for you.

I assumed it was one for everyone on the list and was surprised to see it wasn't. But I guess the good part of that is that we can have a lot more exchanges.

You must be special Dennis :smile: I can only see me having to make one print and as I'm pretty self-centred I didn't notice your name down twice there.

Umm Mine's printed (I think. I may have to check my pile of prints) I just have to think up a good excuse letter :D

30 days hath November...

(there was a url link here which no longer exists) last week but it is still wet and I also have to lacquer it and let it dry again before I can ship it. So a few days late I'm afraid.

Hey you are right, I seem to be the only double exchanger. Now I don't feel so stupid as it is obviously a mistake. But it is OK with me and I have already received one print.

Upon further inspection - I need to re-print after all. I'm not happy with the outcome of the print after looking at it for a while. I need to be happy with what I'm sending. Apologies to all.

Mine went out to Heather awhile back. It is an unmatted platinum/palladium, so mat it anyway you wish (or not), Heather.

I've been keeping an eye out for it, Vaughn, but so far it's not turned up :sad: I'm getting quite worried about it because I know you said you sent it ages ago now. Hopefully it'll turn up soon (or at least that's what I keep saying every morning while waiting for the postman).

Well, we'll keep our fingers crossed. But if it does not show up by the New Year, I'll send another print (after the Christmas postal rush).

FYI -- it was mailed in an 8x10 film box...custom tag marked as a gift, a photograph with a value of US$10. Don't think that would raise any alarms -- it is a male nude (with no "naughty bits" showing :D ).

I sent my prints unmatted as well, though the beautiful 5x7 platinum print I got from Kent was nicely matted in rag.
