The way I interpret Puts's statements is not whining that Leica produces or predominantly markets digital cameras. For decades, Leica cameras were mechanical marvels. Other makers made good cameras and lenses, and Leicas always were a notch better and five notches more expensive. According to Puts Leica now turns into a company writing mediocre software for standard run off the mill camera and lens products, charging extra for the well reputed name.Yeah, so they also offer a selection of other digital imaging products...so what?!
You want a fine camera? Buy an MA and be happy. Quit whining!
Does he no longer do repairs?
I have read what he wrote and he may be right but just "who" is Erwin Puts? While I certainly don't know everything written about Leicas in every language by every author in the world, I have had an interest in and have owned some of their products for more than 50 years, I have never heard of Erwin Puts. Should I have? While I may agree with him, should I really care what he has to say. Much of what he said could have been said when Leica introduced their SLR cameras to meet competition........Regards!Erwin Puts, author of many Leica books posted this on his site:

I think the convergence of digital imaging and AI will be overlooked for now but not much longer. We are heading to an era where AI can be given any type of image and then reconstruct it at will. For example, let's say you shoot a scene with an old 2 megapixel camera, it looks pretty bad. You then import this file to a re-imaging AI. It 'sees' the image and it knows precisely what this image would look like shot with a Leica M6 w/Noctilux and tri-x. The AI has learned this by looking at millions of Leica images. The AI then re-images the original 2 megapixel cruddy image and out comes a perfect image that the most ardent expert can not distinguish from a Leica M6 shot.

AIs creating people that don't exist. Think about this combined with general photography. Then we have to wonder where things go from there. Do you buy a $50,000 camera setup or let an AI take your old iPhone4 image and make it look like it was taken with a $50,000 setup? Does there become a point where there is no reason to produce high-end gear if AIs can make any image high end? It's a strange future ahead for imaging.
It doesn't do as well with cats unfortunately.... https://thiscatdoesnotexist.com/
