Ive scanned thousands of times with my Epson V800 and today while scanning a roll, suddenly everything scans all green!!! I am using a V800 on a Mac, and ive tried re-installing the software 3 times, even on a new user account. I've tried resetting the software totally in the configuration dialog with no luck! Pure green (0, 255, 0) every time!!! Silverfast SE 8 still scans fine but I dont use that software because theres little to no way to boost shadows to soften contrast as far as I know. Please help if you know whats going on!

Not being familiar with the V800 this sounds like an internal problem with either the software (less likely) or the electronics in the scanner itself. Have you contacted Epson themselves, they are usually very helpful, at least in UK.

I don't where or how but some preferences are kept on the computer. Simple uninstall and reinstall will not get rid of a system corruption.

I assume the Reset is the adjustments in the main Epson Scan window.
Click the Configuration button at the bottom of the page, deselect Continuous Auto Exposure and select No Color Correction at the bottom of the box then select OK. Recheck a scan.

Check the OS color configuration for a change to the scanner color space.

I run a V700 and V500 on Windows 10. These scanners use a cold cathode florescent light source the V800 uses a LED light source.
Windows has several 3rd party programs that will uninstall programs, remove their registry entries and any files/folders left behind by the programs standard uninstall.
A workaround is to uninstall the program, defragment the hard drive, manually search for any left behind folders/file, then reinstall the program.

A security program or OS security feature may be blocking/deleting files used by/needed for correct operation of Epsonscan.

I would look for everything connected with Epson, preferences, support files etc. in the System folder & Library folder in the main and user sections also run a search for Epson related files and dump and reinstall. Check before starting to work with the scanner the setup & preferences for your scanning, scan a grey card and perform a grey balance on it and see the result. If it is still green I guess the sensor is the source.

He said, "Silverfast SE 8 still scans fine" so it seems to be an Epson scan software issue versus a hardware issue. I agree with the other poster that the first thing you need to do is get a good software cleanup program, remove the Epson software and then use the cleanup software to remove every trace of the program.

If you have other computers in the house, I would install the Epsonscan software on another computer and see if you can get the scanner to run OK. If it does, that helps confirm you are dealing with a software issue.

Yes this problem has been solved. Scanner was returned to Epson, they determined the internal PRAM had self reset which was a bizarre issue. They sent another scanner to me which has been working beautifully since. Some of the best customer service I've ever encountered.
