EPOI Digitrol Enlarger Timer

Hey guys,

I recently picked up a secondhand EPOI digitrol digital enlarger timer. I’ll attach a picture. Cosmetically it looks brand new, but functionally I’m having some issues. The knobs don’t seem to change the number on the screen and the expose button is not starting the count down. It seems like a great timer so I’m having a hard time parting with it. Does anyone have experience troubleshooting these timers/how do I go about finding someone to fix it?

It could simply be that rotary knobs are variable resistors and the expose button are all suffering from the same issue that oxidation on the contacts is interfering with electrical contact, so the variable resistor wipers are not wiping along the resistor windings and the electrical switch is not closing properly. You might start with using electrical contact fluid on the contact surfaces.

After having it plugged in for over an hour, the 1 second and .1 second knobs are working but not the 10 second knob. Also, when I hit the expose button, it continously counts down from 10 and repeats without stopping. It does not trigger the Enlarger light to come on unfortunately. Im not sure if this thing needs to be plugged up and warmed up for a while for it to work since it has not been used in probably 10-20 years. I took it to a local tech repair guy and he could not figure out any mess ups. Any advice helps!
