I sort of dread asking this question since I'm not trying to stir the pot but does anyone know the status of Emulsion Magazine?

Is it still going to be published?

I was thinking of subscribing but I thought I might wait until there is some clarification about it's possible publishing date.

Thanks,

Don Bryant

I got a chance to see the rough copy at the Silver Conference. It looks good!

I don’t mean to be critical, but would it be possible for the publishing staff to email all those who have subscribed, to confirm our subscriptions? It’s been months and months since I subscribed, and I don’t believe I ever received a confirmation. Just want to be sure I’ll get the first issue.

Eric, if you paypal'd your payment you should be ok. I checked this awhile back and everything was fine.

Address change

Any idea how one changes the address on the subscription?

We should have started a pool to guess which would show up first; Emulsion magazine or Chinese amidol. Emulsion isn't being printed in China, is it?

Add to that list the Jim Chinn Camera.............probably others too.

I hope my grandchildren are still into film photography when they receive the first issue of Emulsion.

I'll add my vote for that! I've paid many months back and don't recall hearing anything since. I had kind of written it off until this recent thread activity. Does anyone know the mail date yet?

I have to say, I'm batting zero with the internet.

Met a friendly fellow photog on another forum and mailed him a big box of film I had frozen but didn't use anymore. All I asked for was a print in exchange. He agreed. Never heard from him again. Jerk.

Pre-ordered a book from a respected photo writer through his website. He's still around, writing for a few photo rags and has another website. Four years later, his book has long been published and I still don't have my copy, paid for years ago. Jerk.

Got into a print exchange on a photonet forum. I sent my partner my prints and never heard from him again. He's still on photonet, posting pix, getting praise, respect and a hero's icon. Jerk.

Etc., ad nausem. Jerks.

I really need you guys at Emulsion magazine to prove that everyone on the Net is not a jerk.

I emailed the same author (not hard to figure out who it is) and he sent me a PDF file and a promise that the book order would be filled. That was something like 6 months ago...

I heard from Aggie last week. Not about Emulsion, but other stuff. She is having some health related issues right now, and my be going in for surgery soon.

All the labor for the magazine is on a volunteer basis at the moment; they are doing the work in addtion to their regular jobs. From talking to Aggie, I feel that starting up the magazine has turned out to be a much bigger job than anyone anticipated.

Is there any chance that guy being the one writing "the sunday morning photographer", Lee?

Cheers

Glad to hear that, Bob. I'm still waiting for my copy. Maybe there's still hope.

Funny thing, he had a different book come out AFTER the first was supposed to be published. He sells it on Lulu. I got that one right away...

What do you guys expect of someone who writes for the Luminous Idiots website?

Starting a magazine with a full-time, dedicated staff is challenging. Doing so in off hours with a volunteer staff is really tough.
