If you email Mike Johnston and tell him that you paid for the book but never received it he will send you a PDF version.

Small recompense, perhaps, but something.

Best,

Thanks Will, but you’re right; it's too small. Another one to be put down to experience.

Will

I have paid for a book, not a PDF file!
Good to now who they are...

Cheers

Starting a magazine with a full-time, dedicated staff is challenging. Doing so in off hours with a volunteer staff is really tough.

I wonder how maintaining a magazine once its started will be under such conditions? I applaud the efforts of everyone involved in trying to get this venture off the ground, but it seems to me that at least one person will have to make it more than a spare-time occupation for it to succeed.

Hi,
I am one of the initial charter subscribers. I am afraid I have lost interest in the magazine. Does anyone know how I can go about getting a refund of my subscription money? Thanks in advance!

I am pleased to report that both Aggie and Menacing Tourist have replied to my request for a refund. You can't ask for more than that. I wish them well in the launch of EMULSION, and to all film shooters everywhere.

I'll still send you a copy of the first issue. I know from your PM where you are coming from. It would still be nice to have that first issue. I wish you well also with your future endeavors.

Aggie.... Do you have an email mailing list from the subscribers? I assume that the bulk of paid subscribers came through your web site and that you do. Perhaps a periodic mailing to the subscribers would alleviate lingering doubts or paranoia regarding the status of the project? It just seems easier to put out little fires than to have negative-toned threads persisting in very visible venues such as APUG, with its perfectly targeted potential customer base. I can understand that you're feeling buried and overwhelmed and don't need one more chore right about now, but I think it would make some good business sense to stay connected with your core group of pre-paid subscribers. Again, best wishes and may your project become less complicated as subsequent issues evolve! As advice is given from these quarters, remember, we're hoping for your success right along with you!

I'm a bit bummed, press checks are either this Friday, or Monday. I have surgery Friday morning and the Dr. today at the preadmit consult, told me he is keeping me for five nights. Could be worse the hospital has only private rooms, no shared rooms. I will make a bet with any of you here, they will relase me early just to get rid of me. I tend not to take bed stay in a hosptial well.

For those in Utah, if any of you would like to see the press checks, I might just be able to talk nicely and get you in. I need all the help reviewing it since I can't be there.

Yeah I've had people from here claim it is not real and that I'm not having surgery too. I will be at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. Geroge Utah. For those who don't believe it, they can call later Friday once I'm in a room, and verify it.

The doc thinks it is serious, me, I have this stubborn streak, and hate hospitals.

I don't believe you.
I want a couple of known APUGers to go to her hospital, stand next to Aggie on the operating table and take photos while she has her guts all over the place. Then mail me the negatives so I know you didn't manipulate them.

Aggie,

Will you have your computer with you in the hospital? Can we expect a lot of posts over the weekend? I have a couple of topics that I could start if you get bored and need to type photography with the rest of us APUGers-- to keep from going crazy in the hospital.

Wish you the very best.

Aggie, if your blood pressure should drop, have the doctors notify us. I know just what to do. If it's too high.....you're on your own.

I was wrong. You can ask for more than that.
Based on the fact that I have yet to receive my refund, I am with Aristotelis.
You may be "in the hospital," but your "hubby" is not. I want my money, not excuses. It takes two minutes to send money with Paypal. You have had over a week to send it to me. I think I can see where this is going. "It's always something."

First # of Emulsion Magazine?

Does anyone know the status of Emulsion Magazine?

Is the first issue already printed and also distributed to the subscribers?
After subscribing and payment I have heart nothing more about it...
Thanks,

Well I have been posting when and what troubles we have had. Right now it is the que for the reprint of the first issue at a new printer (the first was not good enough to line birdcages) for the end of next week. It sucks when a small company like Nike (in the shoe department type of Nike) bumps you because they have a slightly bigger order. Good news is we are now being scheduled so that we will have an ongoing time slot for the printing.

Never mind, Aggie. Give it a couple of years and you will be treading on their position in the queue.

And wearing Nike tennis shoes to do it!

Hmmm. I know a master @ Nike's graphics department and may need to have a word with him. Just to let him know that this is urgent matter.

So, Aggie, it's the end of next week. Was it printed?

(BTW, I can wait. Hold out for the best print quality you can get. You're to be applauded for being willing to suffer the slings and arrows of customer grumblings in order to obtain it. Focus magazine is a good example of what happens when expediency compromises quality.)

I was so busy today, I didn't have a chance to check if it was printed. The person who will go ballistic on them if it is not done, is Dave Parker so you know IT WIll be done and right.

Mark this sweat shop is in Kalispel Montana. With the current heat, everywhere is sweating. Does this mean since I worked on the magazine, I'm a child? At my age I'll take that as a compliment.
