Wow! This is good news indeed. It would be wonderful if it shall have the character of the old Ektar 25. We just can't wait till April.
 
Very nice. Not that I shoot 120, but I'm glad to see this. Now I just hope that all those who requested it make good on their pledges and shoot the hell out of it.
 
They really must love us. Now if only I had a medium format camera!

Looks like Kodak has realized that film users are still a backbone to their business.I will be happy to buy this film and reward their efforts.
 
Great news - Ektar was (is?) one of the finest CN films Kodak ever made. There is a God!

Now we won't have to go searching for Fuji 100 Reala.
 
Well, I ask because it doesn't sound like a first choice for people pictures. But maybe I would be pleasantly surprised in that application, although I'm extremely happy with Portra 400nc.
 
Any new film that provides a a new choice and is provided on the basis of being a quality offering is welcome and Kodak deserves credit where it is due. I for one, will definitely be trying it and deciding in which area of my photography I can use it. Hats off Kodak. K
 
This the 3rd or 4th thread announcing this so far today. This is most likely Kodak's successor to Kodachrome, like the earlier Ektar 25 it's aimed firmly at the quality end of the colour film market, but it has the huge advantage of being easy to get processed, and you can do it yourself with ease.

I normally shoot something like Portra for people pictures. Actually, I shoot B&W. However, the couple shots I took of people with Ektar were fine. So, if I knew I was going to be shooting primarily people, I'll load Portra. If I'm know I'm shooting around town or something with a lot of inanimate objects, I'll take Ektar. If something crops up that I didn't expect, I sweat it :smile:

I don't think it's like Velvia in that respect.
