I tried to order a 5 pack of Ektar 100 for 120 from Adorama yesterday. The website said "in stock" but I got an email from them today saying that it is back ordered 10-14 days. Today the website says "wish listed" for both the pro-pack of 5 rolls and individual rolls. B&H has individual rolls "in stock".

With high demand items, frequent delivery and dispatch times mean that items can come in one door of the warehouse, be packaged, and out of another door within a couple of hours, so real time inventory on the website is often not possible.
Unless the items actually hit the shelves, our computer system generates an automatic message in response to an order, indicating that it is out of stock.

In the scenario you describe, you saw an in-stock indication, because a shipment was expected into the warehouse within the next 24 hours - but because it hadn't hit the shelves, our computer sent the message stating that the film was back-ordered.

We are expecting a further delivery into the warehouse, by the end of this week.

I hope this helps.

If you ever have any queries or concerns regarding an order or purchase from Adorama Camera - or AdoramaPix please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Its all in good fun.

Maybe so - but I did point out on skateperception that I wasn't impressed with the ongoing profanities, to no effect.

So I no longer contribute.

Anyone with a problem will need to contact me directly or find me on another forum; I have over 400 websites, shopping sites, photo sharing forums etc to support, and made a decision to give my time to the consumers who treat me with the same respect I give to them.
(You are very welcome to share this with the forum members if you would like to).

I'm just curious: those of you who are shooting Ektar 100, what are you using it for? I just tried a roll of it in 135, and my conclusion is that the reds and blues are too garish to use the film for general purposes. Are you using it to perk up brownish greens in landscapes? Do you like having no choice about whether the sky looks as if you used a polarizing filter? Are you finding colored abstractions where the unrealistic color works to the photo's advantage?

In 135 it is good for red rock in Utah and Arizona. I have not loaded the 120 roll yet. I am still shooting UC400 135 and 120 because I brought up all that I could to keep it from the hoarders! The Ektar 100 rolls are from Kodak. I would rather have a 400 ASA.ISO film for landscapes in these locations.

Reporting from Canada here, and the 5-rolls propacks of Ektar 100 in 120 have now arrived in Montréal. I picked a pack at LL Lozeau yesterday, and should use it very soon. It's cheaper (30$) than Portra (35$), so I think it might soon be my go-to neg film for saturated landscapes. I bought some E100VS as well to compare the rendition of colours.
