What you can say is that Kodak supplied many many Films where one might know the demand on this emulsion can't have been such high that there was an economical base on some special E6 after 2000.

If you may thing about lots of different formats from this emulsions it comes much more clear.

For example the films in most variations format EPR, EPN, E100G, E100GX, E100VS.

The special E6 emulsions from more less demand on the very beginning and increasing demand during the end 90th : EIR, EPT, EPJ, EPH.

A special case was with the Ektachrome 100 ! After reformulation Kodak launched their New
Ektachrome 100 Plus. Kodak stated that they hold Ektachrome 100 in support for a longer while because many photographers like the special colors on EPN.

Later Kodak launched E100G, E100GX, E100VS (2003) the first two were reformulated E100S,E100SW.
E100S and E100SW has been discontinued when Kodak did roll out the New Version.

But EPN and EPP saw no discontinuation between ! With the amatheuric EB, EBX Kodak had

IN TOTAL 7 Ektachromes in program in all kind different formats (exept EB,EBX just in 135-36)

The folowing discontinuation phase of E6 film was in regard of highliest economic trouble from sellings all this films in smallest scales more and more.

That is the difference to Fuji !

Not that I am a pessimist or anything, but I can't help but wonder after the initial pipeline is filled with the new Ektachrome, how long Kodak will be able to justify making it.
I doubt if the demand for it today will be even close to the demand for it when they decided to pull the plug.
Fortunately, they have less overhead to contend with, but..........

Beats me. Clearly the demand for initial tinkering and experimenting was larger than anticipated but the normalized volume is yet to be seen. Surely it'll be significantly smaller than their c-41 offerings but if they can turn a profit at whatever volume satisfies the market, well more power to them.

Seeing the posts on mounts for 35mm and the probable availability of Ektachrome in 120, how's the supply for 6 x 6 mounts, and 6 x 4.5 mounts? I shoot both formats, and have a Kindermann projector. It would be lovely to project HUGE images on a white wall!

Yeah - that is a good question, thanks. With 6 x 6 you will find some mount manufacturers actually today but (to the most manufacturers) it is looking like : OUT OF PRODUCTION.
That means mounts are still avaible at this point but production was in the past long time ago.
A good Indication is the heaviest price increasement for that mounts for 120films.
That is to state pricing increased with factor x3, x4 and more.
But nethertheless the demand is not great enough to New production some manufacturers will proceed with New short rund on 6x6 mounts. But then you will see additional increasement from pricing.
To 4,5 x 6 mounts I see a bad future indeed = total discontinuation next (on most remaining manufacturers also Gepe......

I forget to say : The Gepe 4,5 x 6 glassless mounts come in danger of discontinuation next.
The 4,5 x 6 anti Newton mounts will obviously have a longer survive. But pls. do yourself a favour and don't have a LOOK what you'll have to pay for still today.

If your speculation is in regard of Kodak backed just their first (smaler masterroll for testing the emulsion) batch - and after remaining half of the first stuff Kodak is selling these days the rest?
And name this: roll out of Ektachrome, because Kodak first need the cash via preorders to finance their first backing Real NEW EKTACHROME 100 ? Is this for what you're worrying?

That would mean from hyphothesis issue Kodak indeed roll out a real smal scale and the demand is much less so it came just in a couple of cases on delays (we heared about) the rest demand of some hundred others is fullfilled?

Let us check it via news paper! That would mean Kodak has less financial reserve in comparison to FERRANIA!.....? And isn't able to finance Ektachrome backing

All I’m suggesting to GRHazleton is that the only mention of Ektachrome in 120 is a speculation, hope, desire, and a hypothesis... not a promise from a valid and verifiable source, nor even a solid rumor.

Help me out... where exactly is the source and who started that rumor??????

I’m calm... and remaining factual, analytical and realistic. I’d like Ektachrome in 120 as much as anyone else. Of course, as you so correctly imply... I’d like to be able to procure Ektachrome in 35mm too.

I looked! OMG! Looks like most of my E-6 shooting will be 35mm, alas! I've noticed in the past that very few labs offer mounting of ANY 120 transparencies.

Ummm....While I have a fair supply of E-6 120 in my freezer, I guess I'd better buy some 645 mounts while I still can. I imagine that 6 x 6 mounts will persist longer.

I haven’t had 120 E6 lab mounted for the past 20 years... it’s always been returned uncut and sleeved. The labs I’ve used didn’t even offer E6 mounting except 35mm.

It’s been a good decade since I’ve been able to get 120 C41 negs lab mounted on aperture cards. I really miss that!

I realy can't remember ever from mounted 120 slide film coming out of a lab. But I am well knowing the uncut and sleeved film return.
In concern of this it is a New issue that some labs can't serve the right film sleeves any longer because
manufacturer stopped production. Just to 120 sleeves of course - from 35mm film wich is indeed the mass within that smal niche we can see a couple of manufacturers.
Nevertheless a lab in my region solved that problem but stated : You have to pay in addition I have an interim derivate from good quality. (the remaining ones on 120 from other manufacturers had poore characteristics)

I can imagine a transparency, in MF or larger, being presented this way. But a negative?

The aperture card (there were many) cropped for the desired final print size, offered s place to record exposure and other printing information, and fit into certain enlarging systems. Plus they were compact storage. Old-skool wedding photographer’s dream. Apparently so archaic that I can’t even find a picture of one on the Internet. I think they are still made for microfilm but at one time they existed in many different crops for 35mm and several 120 film formats. If I can find a pic I’ll attach a link.

This is crazy. Can’t find an example to show you. SOMETHING IS MISSING FROM THE INTERNET... The end may be near!
