My Argoflex EM has a press shutter, making it easy to do this. My Kodak Reflex II cocks with the same lever used to release the shutter -- pull up to cock, push down to release -- so you can do the same with it. Of course, these are both TLRs.

And, of course, anything with a "press" shutter can do this -- there were a lot of those on Speed and Super Graphics, IIRC. Just squeeze the cable release again, and you've made another exposure. Do remember to advance or change sheets occasionally...

As far as the Bronicas go, the SQ and ETR series cameras have motor winders available but the GS-1 does not. However, with speed grip and MLU engaged the shutter recocking action is very fast.

Going with RF645

After looking at my 6x6 negs, I figure 645 is plenty of a step-up from 35mm for this project. Plus light and fast and priced to sell -- the 45mm looks to be just right. The only thing missing is the motor -- not too worried about that.

Thanks all!

Mamiya 7II lets you do this - you have to flip a little switch before hand though...

Kevin,
What _is_ your budget for this? I have an Isolette I also, which doesn't have the double exposure prevention that the II and III has (I think the II has it). And my particular Isolette gets wonderfully sharp images. It's a very inexpensive solution if you aren't looking for an entire new system.

Yashica-D TLRs, by virtue of being Rolleicord copies give multiple exposures by default. You have to cock the shutter and fire, though.

Old folders may be even easier to control. Some have a very primitive shutter made out of a single spring. By depressing the firing lever, you are cocking and firing it at the same time. So you go up-down for the first shot, then down-up for the next, &c &c.

Neat thing about them too is that they use a red window instead of a fixed length frame counter. Not only can you have multiple exposures on a frame, but overlapping frames as well. I've tried this and it gives some sort of modern-ish panorama, in 6x72 !!

The folding 6x9 I started on 40 years ago (and IT was old then) took a picture every time you tripped the lever --- a self cocking shutter. That always troubled me as a kid starting out.

Well it's already ordered, so a moot point!

Actually I expect the 645 will find a lot of other uses as well. Now to find that doggoned 100mm f/4.5....

Got It!

RF645 in hand! First roll of HP5 souped, and after a print I'm tearfully awed by the beautiful lenses. 65mm and 45mm both.

Great. That seems like a very neat little camera.

Pentax 645 does this. There is a "M.E." flat knob on the left hand side.

The Bronica does it quietly, and the shutter cocking is motorized -- so I can keep it to my eye and work through multiples in a very smooth way, just like my Contax. Really digging it.
