Kevin, this is the community that banded together a couple years ago to raise a substantial amount of money for fellow photographer/apuger in need.
Few knew you, many responded. Try to remember that.

continue...

And I have also helped in times of needs as well by donation to help fellows photographer's in times of need. That has nothing to do with my beliefs. And by the way I have also recently helped out a fellow photographer that was in need, so what is your point?

Every time ANYONE on this forum has a different view they are slammed and prosecuted.

Yes I was screwing with you guys after page 2 and at times crying as I was laughing so hard as it is so easy to get everyone here riled up. But my view on the making one stands firm.

APUG has changed since then and is not the same place. Many of those people have left, why? Because of the attitudes from the APPUGERS. This place is not what it used to be and it is a shame., I will continue to HELP anyone that is in need so don't you DARE play this game with me.

See and this is what you guys are famous for, as soon as someone does not agree you personally slam them, so I just gave a little back of what EVERYONE else gives out and they cant handle the heat so maybe they should be more careful in how they respond to people but yet, I'm the idiot. I don't mind the label as I don't hang out here that much anymore anyway.

In any case I stand firm in my beliefs and if you RECALL I thanked each and everyone PERSONALLY! SO THAT has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS and there is no reason to bring it up.

I believe that making an original art of only one original will the minds of the public in how they perceive photography.

My goal is when I ask someone on the street when they hear the word photograph they will say of ART not a picture. I challenge any of you to ask this question to NON photographer's.

"When you hear the word painting what comes to mind?' The answer I receive is art. Now ask this question immediately following, "When you hear the word photographer what comes to mind?" The response I get it always a picture.

I want peoples to relate the term photography with art not a picture.

That about wraps it up.

OK, just read the 'new' post that went up while I typed my post above and feel I should say something...

Kevin, if I may calling people names and flip remarks are not going to make people see your point of view. I would ask that if you can not reply in a civil manner please let this thread be.

If the Mods feel it best to shut this down, I have no objection - other than what should have been open discussion became a crusade by one person. Sorry everyone.

I am not the one that started name calling. Why don't you go back and read the post. I tried to be civil but it was these people that flipped it I just played along.

Go see my remarks on page two I was trying to be extremely civil I didn't start it I just finished it. Read #13, 18 and 20. I as trying to be sincere but these guys had to start the name calling and I played along. Where was I being uncivil in my initial attempt in explaining myself. I didn't start this but I sure didn't let it go either.

And here's a twist. Knowing of Kevin what I do now wouldn't have prevented me from lending that same supportive hand. There might be more to this than meets the eye and maybe a little slack needs to be cut.

Over and out.

Actually Kevin, I've had some really spirited debates with APUG'ers that didn't degenerate into sandbox level arguments. I think you're creating what you perceive this place to be by acting as you do.

No Murray, again you are incorrect in your comment about me. First off you do not know me, nor have we really spoken before and you don't know how I perceive this place and it has nothing to do with me.

Why have so many left? Answer that question and when you do then you might see what I am talking about.

It is what it is.

Kevin, why not start a different thread to discuss your position, as it falls outside of what the OP intended, and let this get back to the original intention?

I have had many other thoughts regarding your position, but have declined to comment out of respect to the OP. My apologies to the OP for any fuel I added to the fire.

Good thing we don't talk much about politics and religion around here.

I don't believe (by my standards) that I have made any photographic "art" to date. My photographs are simply pictures of things that interest me, family and friends or on trips taken. But I do like the idea of one day creating something being considered art. If I ever do, I may just reproduce it for a buyer if their interested in buying one; I'll keep the original and label it "the original". I wonder if that would make a difference in it's value?

Btw, I use to work for a multi-millionaire that collected photographic art and he spent a shit load on edition prints. I guess it didn't matter to him.

O yeah; The answer the question is maybe.
