The people operating print shops most usually have a solid background in traditional pre-press and reprographics, not necessarily photography, whether analogue or digital. Bureaus that offer specialist print services to and for photographers have pivoted with additional skills to meet the relatively new and more specialised demands of both digital and analogue printing.
