Whoever came up with that saying never went to art school.

You're probably right...

For us mortals who did not attend art school, it's a bad idea.

Whoever came up with that saying probably never did anything exciting ever.

That's because they were probably too busy taking care of all the drunk idiots and making sure nobody died because they were the sober one... Lol

... now we're finally getting to the truth of why certain people can't distinguish one film from another

Maybe we should test that hypothesis .... has anyone been successful at fermenting HC-110 yet?

I have some Edwal 12 that's looking pretty ripe. Does that count? Haven't measured gravity yet.

I've got some D-76 that has a Caldor sticker on the can, anyone living in the USA would know that this is an indication that this can is very very old... Heh

I have a can of GAF acid fix that dates back at least to the 1970s...sounds like it is still good when I shake the can...haven't been forced to use it yet.

:D

While there are times I truly think I can see the differences, there are absolutely no instances where I looked at a shot done on one and thought "damn should'a used the other."

I'm taking some vacation in a week and want to keep things simple, so only one B&W film in 4x5. Looked to see what I have loaded, TXP is already in 4 of the 12 holders so TXP it is the film of choice this round.

Well, I have had one occasion where I would say I wished I'd used fresh TMY-2 and rated it at 250 instead of using expired TRI-X and rated it at 400.

But if I wanted to pencil in what didn't show up... the film's got the tooth.

Just bought a box of TMY-2, so I'm set now.

I will.

You picked a fine film Stone. Don't second guess that choice until you've knocked off 4-500 shots in 4x5.
