It certainly appears that the sequence of backing has little bearing on how they distribute.

I believe the international ones are shipping this week and the North American ones start next week. The original estimate in the kickstarter was October 2013, I think.

The original estimate was December 2013. However, as these things go, Ben and Justin got blindsided by the difficulties of manufacturing such a complicated item. Fortunately for the backers, they stuck to it at a great personal expenditure, and finally saw the project through.

It isn't done yet. You may have a camera but I don't.

I sincerely appreciate all the difficulties the intrepid duo overcame, but this isn't over until all the backers have a camera.

I posted the date because someone on the last page asked what it had been. I apologize if I was off a couple of months. I'm not complaining either. They found some pretty big obstacles along the way and worked to fix the issues and make what I think will be even better in the end. I'll judge it when I finally have one and can use it, but I'm pretty sure that won't be too much longer.

A big part of why I'm pissed off over this is that I'm going to be taking yet another trip (TRAVELwide? hint hint) that it won't be in my hands in time for. I had originally thought based on their promises that I would have it in time to take with me to Paris, and use it for some extremely wide-angle pinhole shots. Well, that didn't pan out. Then my Toronto trip last year. Now I'm about to leave for Rome and Florence and it will most likely ship and be delivered WHILE I'm on vacation.

Well, on the positive side, their most recent update was the most upbeat one I have seen from them in quite some time. The fact that cameras are actually going out the door must be perking them up a bit.

I will say one thing. After having watched several Kickstarter projects that I have backed progress through their different stages, I am pretty confident that I am not Kickstarter material. I have been involved with Travelwide, Entrepid, New55, Ferrania, CL-81, Frankencamera and Galaxy. Ignoring Frankencamera and Galaxy, one of which is more a proof of concept and the other still has time on the clock, the CL-81 project is the only one that was on time.

At this late stage whenever it arrives is when I will believe it is real. Fortunately I cannot afford to travel (although by a strange coincidence I'm away now) so I hope mine doesn't arrive too soon. I wonder how many will be lost in transit and if they have enough spare cameras to replace those lost, as some surely will be. If that happened to me after a 22 month delay I would not accept a refund, only a replacement camera. Let them deal with the carrier as far as a claim.

Well, it also appears that creating a tracking number has little bearing on when they actually ship it too.
Looks like a week after creating and email me the tracking number and getting me all excited, it may have finally left the country 6 hours ago (or Bensenville could just be another depot on the way).

Once it's out of the US the tracking stops working apparently (even though my 'usps priority' packages through fleabay work all the way to my door).
So it could be another week or two before I get it, I hope they don't have too many non-deliveries (for their sake) if they're not tracking them door-to-door...

Turns out the tracking numbers were generated 10/2/15 but the truck did not pick up from their location until 10/6/15, this is in the comments section of the KS site.

My Travelwide ('s) were delivered yesterday (United Kingdom) and all looks good. As promised they have all the simplicity of a Holga, although with a good lens and technique the negatives should be indistinguishable from a 'better' 4x5. I look forward to trying them out both shooting from the hip with no appreciable technique on show and from a tripod with lots of faffing about and intense concentration

That is great news, Steve. I suppose that means I will receive mine soon now. It has been well worth the wait, I'm sure!

Oh, I hope mine doesn't come tomorrow. I've got an assignment due tomorrow and another on Sunday, I don't want to be playing with my new travelwide all weekend.
Got so much I want to try on it, like can I get a 135/3.5 Xenar to focus and cover FP3000B for indoor shots, and can it work with a 150 G-Claron and Dayi 617 back, amongst other things...

Interesting. I got the exact same date / time stamps on my log - still waiting for mine to arrive in Germany.

Did the Travelwide ever get off the ground? Yes it sure did. And after getting off and traveling over the big pond, it landed safely in my hands this Saturday. Well worth the wait. Went out and about with it today, developed my very first four 4x5 negatives this evening. This is going to be so much fun... Holders loaded for another walk with the Wanderlust tomorrow (if weather and time permit). I'm happy!

Lars, has yours arrived yet? I see the same date and time in my tracking log and still waiting for it to arrive here in Germany. Maybe stuck at the customs?

No, and no change in the tracking log either. Two weeks duration is probably nothing to worry for? But for the cost of shipping, I had expected a little bit better service.

Unfortunately, that tracking number is only good for the USA. As in, once it leaves the country it could be anywhere. My number says the same thing and I got it last week.

Luckily, I'm in Seattle and also received my tracking notice. Appears shipment will take place on Wednesday. My 90mm is ready and eager.

This will never be a commercially available camera right?

It might be. They've had enough people asking who had missed the kickstarter that they're possibly going to do more with pre-orders. They have the manufacturing process figured out now, so may be able to crank some more out after this batch is delivered.
