Did Konica ever made a SLR in the same class as Pentax ME Super/Olympus OM2/Nikon FE/Minolta XD?

There just seems to be no good options for body, I'll probably just look for another T3 or TC for cheap and be at the same place I was.

Well honestly given the cost it's your best move. Yes some of the Konica stuff was plasticky and yes, more people seem to have left batteries in them over the years but the TC is a decent solid camera body....I used one for years until I upgraded to a Nikon FE and beyond and I missed it the whole time....so now I have three more, all good and cumulatively still less than a comparable Nikon!

I would think about a TCX, runs on AAA batteries, Dx for film speed with manual override and very bright viewfinder. Cheap enough to by 2, one for a backup.

When you say the TC-X has a "very bright viewfinder" is that based on your personal experience? If so, compared to what?

I am not trying to be argumentative, but some websites have criticized the TC-X for its viewfinder.

I have never seen a TC-X, but if the viewfinder is in fact relatively bright, then I might be interested in getting one, but if it is darker than the TC / T4 viewfinders, then that would be a deal-killer for me.

After shooting one 24 exp roll in my new TC, I think it's going to work out OK.

For me, the camera was pleasant to shoot, easy to focus, and I love the short film advance stroke. I was disappointed when it came time to rewind the film. The film rewind lever was very fiddly and uncooperative. Mine may be broken or modified; I will need to investigate.

I have not yet processed the film, so cannot comment on exposure control.

I looked at the both the TC and the TCX, last year, at an estate sale, I thought the TCX had the better viewfinder. The previous owned had passed and a person who specialized in estate sales had priced the cameras too high, way to high, like $75 each and would budge on the price, dso I passed.
