Is there any way to deal with film scratches from processing other than scsanning? I'm bummed as my favorite image has a few tiny scratches...

Scratches.

Good Evening,
I have a product called NoScratch, made by Edwal. It is formulated to get rid of those pesky dings on your negs.
Must admit, I have not used it yet.
Where are ya hailing from?

Mike

You can also use tiny (and I mean tiny) amounts of petrolium jelly.

NoSscratch works, sometimes. It is worth trying, however, you must clean the negative after using it and clean the negative carrier as well as it gets over everything, or so it seems.

Another proponent of Edwal No-Scratch here.

If you use a glass neg carrier, you could try something like Kami mounting fluid (used for drum scanning), which is supposed to evaporate neatly at the end of the process.

Rub your thumb on the side of your nose, then on the scratches. I'm sure one of our contributors knows what that does. It only works if the scratches are on the shiny side, not the emulsion. Nose oil has the proper index of refraction to make the scratches disappear. Just make sure you dont leave any fingerprints.

if you have no nose-oil, you can also use another source of a similar substance - it has the same properties, and is located behind your ears.
