How do people flirt today without getting into trouble?
They don't flirt from positions of power and are respectful. People just need to accept rejection as a sign of good taste.

That a person is, and/or is considered as, a good person by friends and family shows that the person meets the minimum requirements of being functionally human. The next step up are those who also equally care and give consideration to others unlike themselves. I guess the next step after that is sainthood/state-of-grace/satori or whatever one would like to try to label it...wisdom, perhaps. I am still struggling with the middle step.

What if the woman is looking for a man of power and wealth? She might not like your standards. In fact, she might be the person flirting.

Like it or not, this is a man's world.

That reminds me of a term from the 1960's ....

... what was it ...

Then she consents.
And if he consents, there are no immediate problems.
The progression of the relationship may reveal new problems, but that is a different set of facts.

Ah yes, the old adage of "She sleeps her way to the top", instead of the crappy "it's a men's world, and if you want to get promoted, you have to have sex with me."

*thumbs up*

Then you use your grown up powers of rational thought, and calculate whether the risk is worth it. Men too can say no.

Offended? Gods no! Women wouldn't dare. They swoon as your manly smell whiff by. Lesser men tremble at the mere mentions of your name. Angels sing the day you were born.

Magnificat!

Thank you Vaughn!

and yes, Japanese culture is different from America's, but it does not mean that some of the greats, like Araki, will not be re-evaluated at some point. The original "sin" of the Thai girl prostitute images are probably miscalculation of Magnum's part in getting their entire archive up on the web without thinking it through. The images were OK at that time and probably did provoke some people to look at the situations and try to do better, but, well, 2020 is different from 2000.

Interesting, you forget that several well known FEMALE photographers have made their entire professional acclaim and fame and careers by riding upon the backs of prostitutes?

1 did it on the backs of prostitutes in India. One did it upon what was placed as a child prostitute in the US. They both have published books of those photos, and the last one did a 20 year aniversery movie about the book.

Do not forget Sturges or Mann, they have spent DECADES being celebrated for taking HEAVILY sexually explicit photographs of underage children. Have made fortunes selling art prints of those images, have had numerous photo gallery showings of those images, sold countless photo books. Yet how many times have you denounced them on here?

I have mentioned Mary Ellen Mark by name. So what? As I said, the original sin was Magnum's failure to not to put up their entire archive without care or considerations. The allegations that (probably) caused DAH resignation from Magnum is not about that. So pivoting to them just shows your bias.

The liberal elite have been going after John Wayne for decades.

I was specifically talking about John Wayne, a white person, playing the character of Genghis Khan, a decidedly not a white person. But it's OK, this is precisely the thing I am talking about, privileged people blame it on "liberal elite""What problems, I don't see any problems." LoL

Oh, BTW, "someone else does it too", does not make the bad behaviors less bad. Just saying.

um you do realize that in most movies of the day, japanese people played 99% of all roles involving Eskimos?

And that was the most common thing of all...

Or are you perhaps one of the wierdoes who protested over a white woman playing the main role in the live action Ghost in the Shell movie.... even though the charecter was actually of a white female robot with a japanese womans brain inside

Ha, first of all, racism exists everywhere. Second of all, asshat, we Asian Americans complaining about Scarlett Johannsson playing a Japanese character while the Japanese accept it is precisely the point, which is AMERICAN cinema not utilizing local talents who can do the part, e.g. all the Japanese American actors or even other Asian actors. Japanese experience is not the same as Japanese American, and not necessarily those of Chinese Americans.

Weirdo my fucking ass. Dumbfuck.

You do comprehend that the charecter in the original anime, that the johannsson movie copied 90% truthfully, had the charecter as a white female.. and that the follow up series stand alone complex did as well?

They are nudes, haven't seen any that I would class as "sexually explicit".

Let's continue to not talk about what the people are actually complaining about. Sure. Let's do that.

If you can name 3 Asian Americans in major roles in more than 3 movies each, then I will shut up on this topic. Note that there are ~5.4% of Asians Americans in US.

Oh, you don't know why that matters? *roll eyes*

And yes, bringing up Sally Mann as an example of "sexually explicit" is so 1990s. Did you miss the firefights the first TWO times it went around?

Well many consider the works of Helmut Newton and Bunny Yeager to be "sexually explicit". SO when a person poses nude CHILDREN in identical poses.... one can only declare them as sexually explicit.
