Meanwhile, our race is on the verge of extinction, in a world where wrong is right, and right is wrong!

There's a few billion of us. I think we're extincting slower than we have in recorded history. I'm not going to die of a toothache anytime soon or a scrape.

I'll take this extinction existence over the prosperity of pre industrial revolution.

Lets go back to talking about the importance of Magnum - that is much more (photographically) interesting.
Because I think you will agree, that if you are looking to sea lions as a guide for behavior, something is pretty fishy!

And this is all happening when men have been and are firmly in control of things. Now when the shit is hitting the fan, some men cry out -- "It's the women's fault!" "Look the other way! THEY are the problem, not us!" Pathetic, really.

I've not heard this yet. Who are we blaming for what today?

So "men" can never learn not to harass women or behaving badly? Nice to know your attitude.

I was in the grocery store the other day, and I noticed a rather large woman in a plaid very short skirt. She got my attention, and somebody else's as well. Soon I heard her yelling, " That's not a compliment, that's harassment!" I looked to see who the transgressor was. Turned out to be a stooped-over little old man looking much chagrined. No idea what he had said.

Well, the sea lions and humans are both mammals, so they may have something in common. But I take your point. Made me laugh.

As for Magnum, I wonder where the money comes from, now that there are so few outlets for photography and reportage. There's still Paris Match, although circulation has dropped from 1.8 million copies in 1958 to 650,000 in 2008.

I was more concerned with the (lack of) appreciation of the historical importance of Magnum.
I don't know what their systems and rules might be for shared participation in revenues. They may be more like an agency now, with the individual photographers working in more genres, and benefiting mostly from their association with Magnum.

Who knows, in the long run perhaps the downfall (if it happens) of Magnum due to supporting (perhaps 'enabling' would be a better word) the harassment of women by its members just might be one of its primary historic important "achievements". Time will tell. A lot of that is up to Magnum. At this late of a date, there arer no valid excuses for them for their (in)action.

Don't get me wrong, Magnum's dealings with this issue are of great concern.
I just find myself dismayed at how many don't have any knowledge of its past importance.

Cowardice: definitions, hiding behind fancy words and "I didn't pull the trigger".

If you choose to be a misogynist, own your words.

Some moron just put a bag of dog poop on a corgi owner's car with the words "Fuck Off, Chinese". This is in Santa Clara, nominally a liberal place. 75 year grandma and 85 year grandpa are being punched in the face, all because they are Asians. I don't have patience for all these "Awww, men will be men" bullshit.

For sure the old boys network pat each other on the back, saying how great they are. *thumbs up*

How do people flirt today without getting into trouble?
It is called consent, and there are lots of people, in lots of situations, who are happy to be mutually flirtatious.
It also helps that it is much more acceptable now to tell someone to stop, just as it is now much more expected that someone should take no for an answer.

You can't ask for consent when you flirt. That's like asking a person to take their picture first and expecting an unposed natural result.

It's not rocket science. Have you flirted with people before? Have the other parties say no, or then avoid you?

If not ever, then either you are god's gifts to other people, just a plain magnificent specimen of Homo Sapiens Sapiens, or you are a member of the "it's a men's world, like it or not" club.
